Meet Clawdia Pinchington👋, Boys & Girls Clubs of Acadiana member and spokesperson for our 2024 Crawfish Crawl!🦞Get to know Ms. Pinchington in a recent interview as she continues to sell her Crawfish Packages in support of the Clubs.

💁‍♀️What exactly is the Boys & Girls Clubs of Acadiana?
🦞The Boys & Girls Clubs of Acadiana is a 54-year-old organization serving over 2,500 youth in 6 Parishes at 8 different locations (and GROWING!). Offering after school and summer programs, we focus on 3 Main Impact Areas: Academic Success, Healthy Lifestyles, and Good Character & Citizenship. Our mission is to “empower all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens.”

💁‍♀️What does a typical day at the Club look like?
🦞When I get off the school bus, I am greeted by my Club Director along with other staff with a warm smile. We then go into Project Learn and Power Hour which are two programs the Club offers to help us with our homework every day after school. Dinner is served (my favorite part) every day; a hot meal from Second Harvest Food Bank. Their meals are delicious! After dinner, we do various programming that has different focuses such as sports, education, arts & crafts, health & wellness, workforce readiness, and character & leadership. It makes the Club fun and interesting as it something new every day!

💁‍♀️What does the Club mean to you?
🦞When I first started attending the Club, I didn’t know what to expect because as a shy kid growing up, I never imagined the Club being something I would enjoy. The staff were welcoming and broke me out of my shell, making me feel like I was home. I honestly believe the Club transformed my life for the better, and I don’t know where I would be without it.💙
