Good morning!

Today, I want to share a short reflection about life.

Last night, a friend chatted about someone I knew who committed su***de.

This morning, the first reel I saw online, was a reel about someone who jumped off from a building, dead, another story of wasted life...

I can't blame them though.
Maybe, it was what they thought was the easiest way out.
Maybe, it's the only choice they believed they had instead of facing any problem they might have had.

I was in their shoes, too, before. So I understand them.
Marriage was not good.
Financial problem was a big issue.
I worked 1 full-time job and 2 side hustles but still not enough to get by day by day.

I thought of jumping off from the third floor of the house.
But, below, I saw the rusty iron bars facing upward, and I thought of a horrible death.
On the terrace side of the house, there was a tricycle parking. Some tricycle drivers were there who would become witnesses of my su***de attempt. It's a shame.
On the other side of the house, there was a roof so I might only get wounds and broken ribs if ever I jumped. The last thing and the most important consideration, that stopped me was, I am a graduate of the Sisters of Mary. Mama Mary, Jesus, and God won't forgive me. Fr. Al would be disappointed in me.
Thanks, for those second thoughts. I was saved. I continued living and fighting and never thought of giving up again.

Actually, I have survived a lot of near-death experiences because of my heart sickness. I have had severe mitral stenosis since 2011. I visited Heart Center in 2011 regularly. I was advised to have a ballooning. At that time, my hope was God. I beg God. I attended a healing mass from Fr. Suarez+ who upon touching my forehead and hearing my words that I would be undergoing a heart treatment, Fr. Suarez boldly said, "DI MATUTULOY YAN." It was a miracle. Indeed, the ballooning didn't push through, however, not because my heart was OK but because the 4 doctors said, I needed heart valve replacement. If the procedure had been pushed through, I might have died while I was on the operating table since my valve was not in good condition. I got depressed for 3 months. I cried a lot. Thanks to my support system from my work before. My boss was kind to me. My officemates were good to me.

Going back here in Quezon, I was confined in the city hospitals a few times because I could hardly breathe. Walking 10-15 steps was so hard for me. I couldn't run. I couldn't dance. I couldn't jump. I couldn't climb building stairs without resting every now and then. My actions were limited. But, my sickness didn't take away my hopes and faith in God.

Many times, I prayed to God. Like a child to a father, I beg him to extend my life because I have two daughters I must take care of and I must give them a good life.
I entrusted Him with my life. I repented for my shortcomings because I was a sinful believer and promised to dedicate the remainder of my life to serving Him through His church and people. I felt He replaced my heart just like my request and I claimed.

Life is hard. I know it. I experienced it. It's a continuous struggle. However, we only live once. We must make it our duty to live it fully and faithfully.

Life is SHORT. Live it. Enjoy it. Face it. Make your life a well-spent one.
Don't be busy dying. Be busy living.
Enroll in courses.
Learn new things.
Join charities.
Do something good towards your neighbor every day.
Make it a habit to do acts of kindness whenever possible.
Use your talent to serve God. Joining church choir. Joining Church servants. In service, there is beauty. In service, there is joy.

Don't be busy finding faults in your neighbor.
You were never perfect.
You were never meant to be perfect.
God loves our imperfections and our humility. He wants us to recognize our imperfections and that we come to Him for His forgiveness. He loves us for who we are; not for who the world wants us to be. REMEMBER THAT.

Oh by the way, while typing this, my eyes are blurry. I think I got a mild stroke last April due to over-fatigue. My eyes were not good since then. Still, my present situation won't hinder me from living the life I should be.

I hope this inspires anyone who is facing the battle right now. Everything will pass us by. Don't sit on your problems for so long. Wag mong TAMBAYAN! IASA MO SA DIYOS. Sabihin mo lang, LORD DI KO NA PO KAYA, PABUHAT NA!
