Ok we are starting a new week long holiday. Plantmas. Plantmas is a gift give holiday where you gift one good plant to one person. You Plantmas goes until next Thursday at noon. The rules of Plantmas are simple:
1) the plant must go to a loving home
2) the plant must be a good plant. Nobody wants the half dead shrub in your yard or that tomato plant that may not make it.
3) if you get a plant you must regift a plant to a person beside who gave it to you to spread the must Plantmas cheer.
4) failure to fellow these rules will bring about the wrath of the great zucchini who will mildly inconvenience you for a week.

Sometimes this town makes us extra proud.

About last night ... welcoming John Németh and band to the stage -- and fully thanking all of you for coming back after a deluge of near-biblical proportions. So here we. We thank YOU, along with Mr. Németh and band, our entire lineup --- and of course sponsors, steering committee, and each and every volunteer (individual and heartfelt thanks on the way).

Howie Alexander was unfortunately unable to join us due to the rain delay but we look forward to welcoming him back to Indiana under drier conditions.

We couldn't get the entire Indiana Area Junior High Jazz Band in the frame (we're betting some of the friends and family in the audience remembered the panorama setting) ... but we did get their director and DCWJBF steering committee member Zack Karcher. IAJHS is opening things up. The Apollo-Ridge Jazz Landers will follow at approximately 11:45 a.m.

Let's meet another member of the DCWJBF 24 lineup, taking the stage Saturday, May 25 for a free, live performance in downtown Indiana.

“My story is atypical,” Gabe Stillman, a Williamsport, Pa. native, told Blues Blast Magazine, “I come from a place where classic rock and country music is just about all you hear on the radio.” -- Read the full interview at the link below.

Stillman comes recommended by Chicago bluesman and DCWJBF 2023 headliner Toronzo Cannon: “Gabe Stillman has the intensity and the chops the blues should have, keep your eye on him!”

With The Gabe Stillman Band, The Berklee College of Music graduate has landed in the final eight of the 35th Annual International Blues Challenge in Memphis, where he also received the esteemed Gibson Guitar Award.

His 2021 release Just Say the Word reached #5 on the Roots Music Radio chart along with three charted singles. The album also debuted at #10 on the Billboard Blues Chart.

A Blues Music Award nominee in the Best New Emerging Artist Album category, The Gabe Stillman Band has supported acts such as George Thorogood, and the Destroyers, and ZZ Top.
