Perez was out working on Sunday when he was shot and killed 'execution-style' during a robbery, according to police. “The person who killed my dad took away a part of me,” his son writes. “He took away my father. VANESSA UPDATE 🚨 As promised, I wanted to keep you updated on the Vanessa Guillen case. There's a couple of things happening. The City of Killeen, Texas - Government refuses to release body camera recordings or dash camera recordings involving the pursuit of Specialist Aaron Robinson. He's the only suspect in Vanessa's brutal killing. We're told he died by su***de as law enforcement officers tried to arrest him on June 30th, 2020. Attorneys with the city of Killeen are citing what's become known as the "dead suspect loophole" of the Texas Public Information Act to prevent the release. The Office of the Attorney General will now weigh in on whether the city can prevent the release. I'm working on a story for ABC13 Houston about this issue. I'll have a full report on the news at 3PM & 4PM. Tomorrow afternoon, members of the Fort Hood Independent Review Committee will testify in front of Congressional leaders about their findings & recommendations for the Army's Criminal Investigative Division. We'll be closely monitoring that as well. Next month will mark one year since the Houstonian's horrific murder on base at Fort Hood.
