Add to your Kyoto itinerary!

This sweet old train ride makes the cutest addition to your Arashiyama Bamboo Forest trip.

Walk through to the end of the bamboo forest, turn left and you’ll find the train station.

You can book your tickets online but we just turned up and bought them as soon as the ticket counter opened.

You can go and return by the train doing a round trip but we got off at Kameoka Station and jumped on a regular train into Kyoto.

Honest opinion- are Nishiki Markets, Kyoto worth visiting?

We came here a few times, I’d heard some mixed reviews, here’s my honest opinion.

👍 it’s nice and quiet early morning or late afternoon
👍 there’s a lot of great foods to try. Great that you can buy small pieces to sample lots of different things!
👍 there are great souvenir stores if you’re looking to go shopping and prices are reasonable

👎 it gets really busy and much too crowded in the middle of the day making it very hard to get anywhere!
