In working with Scarlett and Martin to create episode 10, we struggled to find a term to describe their initial connection. "Friend' didn't seem to quite capture it. And then we realized they had been "close acquaintances". We all have them - people who are in our orbit, sometimes for years or even decades but, for whatever reason we never REALLY get to know them despite having admiration, proximity or even affection for them. Episode 10 is about more than a set-up. It's about recasting the people in our lives with whom we may have crossed paths without ever really getting to know them. ICYMI: lauren and cameron hamilton from Love Is Blind visited us to talk about their new book and the impact of being away from technology and distractions during the filming of the show...what can the rest of us learn from reality tv dating shows and their constraints? Sure there were cameras ON them but they were OFF social media, email, texts, dating apps etc. There are a lot of insights from their experience that don't require you to audition:) They love the idea of the set-up and how it can open your mind...and believe they were set-up by the show and its producers in the best way.
