She politely asked if there was any way I could get her a pair of winter shoes to replace the ones she was wearing, explaining how her feet felt numb from the extreme pain the cold caused. Detectives in Sheffield are appealing for witnesses following a burglary of an elderly woman’s home in Ranmoor.

Between midnight and 1am on Saturday 12 November, it is reported that two masked men forced entry to a property on Stumperlowe Hall Road.

Gareth Thomas, Sheffield Central Neighbourhoods Inspector, said: “This was a nasty incident which has left the elderly resident extremely shaken."

Sheffield Children’s Hospital have issued an update on their plans for the upcoming Royal College of Nursing strikes.

Craig Radford, Chief Operating Officer at Sheffield Children’s NHS Foundation Trust, said: “We are working closely with our nursing colleagues and other services to put in place plans, which we will refine when we have a clearer understanding on the dates and specific details."

Three men sought following city centre assault. Around 11:10pm on Friday 21 October, a 43-year-old man was assaulted by three men inside the Maida Vale Club on West Street.

The men are reported to have punched, kicked and jumped on the man’s head and body multiple times, causing several injuries.

Sheffield City Council resisted government consultations on imposing a rent cap increase for 2023/24, arguing potential losses of £12 million would hugely impact their services to council housing tenants.

The government asked local authorities whether they agree with a ceiling of between three percent and seven percent being imposed on rent increases for the next two years.

Councillor Douglas Johnson, Chair of Housing Policy Committee, said: “We are really up against it."

On 6 August 2019, police searched one of convicted's residence with a misuse of drugs act warrant. Officers entered the property and did not find any drugs, however they found two guns alongside a black bag containing bullets which were then seized and sent for forensic examination.

A man has been sentenced to 10 years in jail for violently stabbing a man at a party in Sheffield earlier this year.

The convicted pleaded guilty in Sheffield Crown Court after a stabbing a 29 year-old man after a night out in May this year, leaving the victim with life threatening injuries.

Sheffield City Council have proposed plans to enhance and redevelop parts of Orchard Square and The Montgomery in the city centre as part of the ongoing changes to Fargate and High Street.

The plans will look to enhance the Orchard Square open space, including the installation of canopies allowing the square to play host to a year-round programme of outdoor events as well as converting vacant upper floors to housing.
