It happened during midnight
as often these things do,
when the night was as black as a raven’s wing and the full moon shimmered blue.

The kingdom still and silent
as sleepy rivers tinkled by, when slumber was then broken by a wild, coarse battle cry.

The villagers did scramble from the beds in which they lay, and panic soon took over, long before the break of day.

They ran towards the castle
to seek help from their great king, and at the soaring entrance wall they all began to sing,

“The Shadow-Snatchers cometh from the blackened midnight sky, so let us in your castle, or we are sure to die!”

But the king, he froze and faltered with the queen stood by his side and in the safety of his castle,
he thought, and then he lied.

“I cannot let you enter
though it pains me to tell you so, but you may find your shelter in the land of the Falling Snow.”

Now the villagers they all knew about the land of which he spoke, hidden deep within the mountains of dragon fire and choking smoke,

and nestled in the wilderness
of golden flames and dragon breath, was a land that could protect them or send them to their death –

as the pathways there are treacherous through dark forests of magic black, and a young villager named Caramath knew this unfair fact….

Dragons, sirens, creepy forests and more await our young hero Caramath. A perfect Halloween Middle Grade read!

Here at Little Whimsey, we have been chomping at the bit with excitement. We have a new collection about to drop at our Little Whimsey boutique children’s book and gift store and we can’t wait to share it with you.

But hang on, you say, isn’t this a new account?

Yep! Due to a few behind the scene technical issues with our original Insta and facebook accounts, we’ve had to start again…

But we think this is great news. Here at Little Whimsey, we believe a blank canvas is always an exciting opportunity to create something wonderful, and we want to create something wonderful for you!
