After a seven-year hiatus, the Project Pabst Music Festival is making its triumphant return to Portland, Oregon, on July 27-28, 2024. Held at Waterfront Park, this two-day event promises an exciting blend of live music, craft beer, and local Pacific Northwest culture.
The festival lineup spans various genres, ensuring there’s something for everyone. Rock legend Billy Idol will grace the stage, bringing his iconic hits and electrifying energy. Hip-hop sensation T-Pain will keep the crowd grooving, while indie stars Big Thief captivate with their soulful sound. And don’t miss the dynamic performance by Denzel Curry, known for his boundary-pushing rap and captivating stage presence.

In addition to the headliners, Project Pabst is proud to showcase a variety of local artists who are making waves in the Pacific Northwest music scene. Portland favorites Gossip are making a long-awaited return, bringing their unique blend of punk and dance-rock to the stage. STRFKR, another Portland-based band known for their infectious indie-pop sound, will also be performing. Seattle’s own La Luz will add their dreamy surf-rock vibes to the mix, ensuring that the festival not only celebrates national talent but also shines a spotlight on the incredible local music scene.

Currently, Knocked Loose dominates the hardcore scene with their relentless energy. You Won’t Go Before You’re Supposed To, their latest album released on May 10, showcases their refusal to water down their sound for mainstream appeal. Instead, they cleverly incorporate pop elements to enhance their music, as seen in their latest single featuring Poppy called “Suffocate.”

“The band seamlessly blended hits from their four albums, their newest being 2023’s Back to the
Water Below, with crowd favorites being “Typhoons”, “Loose Change”, “Out of the Black” and “Shiner in the Dark”. For most of the evening the crowd danced and headbanged, but escalated to a circle mosh pit during “Lights Out”. During their encore they brought BAD NERVES guitarist, William Philipson back to the stage to perform “Waves” with them. Their sound and energy blew me away once more, and this certainly won’t be the last time I see them perform.” — .eckles

📸 Our cover artist this week is Arcadia Grey who released their album “Casually Crashing” last week on May 10. “Casually Crashing” is really vulnerable, and speaks to Cora’s experience with coming out to her family as trans in the wake of the grief of losing her grandfather. Casually Crashing is a really special record where the band comes together to deliver an inviting sense of family, friendship, and belonging, in the wake of rejection and lack of acceptance. It’s a candid and beautiful story of the resilience in trans joy and community.

🎶 This week we are featuring artists like Telltale, Brave Face, Farseek, One Step Closer, FELICITY, Oso Oso, Excuse Me Who Are You?, MooseCreek Park, Another Michael, Strelitzia, Joywave, Bug Senance, Loyal To The Grave, Taylor Acorn, Fly Over States, Prevention, Wunderhorse, The Wldlfe, Dog Party and so many more!

Independent Wyoming pop-punk band recently released their debut album, SHIMMER.SEASON, and it’s a solid mix of angst, love, and pop-rock.

About the album, lead singer Patrick Gilchrist says, “SHIMMER.SEASON means everything to me. I have never worked harder on a set of songs. I’ve never been more proud of songs. I’ve never felt more solidified in our sound and our identity as original band, as a pop-punk band, as a band just in general.”
