Today would have been 𝗣𝗮𝘁𝘁𝘆 𝗛𝗼𝗯𝗯𝘀’ 𝗯𝗶𝗿𝘁𝗵𝗱𝗮𝘆, and we can’t think of a more perfect way to honor her than by sharing this incredible milestone: 𝗧𝗼𝗴𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿, 𝘄𝗲 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗼𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗿𝗮𝗶𝘀𝗲𝗱 $𝟭𝟬𝟬,𝟬𝟬𝟬 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗻𝗲𝘄 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗱𝗶𝗮𝗰 𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁 𝗮𝘁 𝗧𝗵𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝗕𝗮𝘆 𝗥𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹! 🎉

Five years ago, we started the 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗖𝗼𝗼𝗸𝗶𝗲 𝗙𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗿𝗮𝗶𝘀𝗲𝗿 in memory of Patty, who left us too soon after a heart attack. What began as a way to honor a dear friend has grown into something far bigger than we ever imagined—𝗮 𝗹𝗲𝗴𝗮𝗰𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗹𝗼𝘃𝗲, 𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗼𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆.

Patty was someone who always showed up for others—𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗮 𝗯𝗶𝗴 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘁, 𝗮 𝗯𝗶𝗴𝗴𝗲𝗿 𝗹𝗮𝘂𝗴𝗵, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗮𝗻 𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗹𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗽. And now, thanks to this amazing community, 𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗻𝗮𝗺𝗲 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗯𝗲 𝘁𝗶𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗽 𝘀𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗲𝘀.

Today, 𝘄𝗲 𝗰𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗯𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗣𝗮𝘁𝘁𝘆. We celebrate 𝘆𝗼𝘂. And we celebrate 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗱𝗶𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 $𝟭𝟬𝟬,𝟬𝟬𝟬 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗮𝗴𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘀𝘁 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗱𝗶𝘀𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗲.

To the incredible people of Thunder Bay,

On this Valentine’s Day, our family was once again reminded of just how big Thunder Bay’s heart truly is. This year, in memory of our mom, we had the privilege of supporting Bay Village Coffee’s heart-shaped cookie fundraiser for the Northern Cardiac Fund by pledging to add $1 for every cookie sold on Valentine’s Day, to the amount that Bay Village would already be donating.

Thanks to all of you—whether you bought a cookie, spread the word, or simply shared in the spirit of giving—1,539 cookies were sold on February 14 alone, roughly doubling last year’s same-day total. While the three of us may be feeling a little lighter in the wallet today, our hearts have never been fuller.

We are deeply grateful to Alan and the entire Bay Village Coffee team for their passion and dedication to this cause, and to everyone who helped make this fundraiser such an overwhelming success. Your generosity ensures that cardiac care in our region continues to grow stronger, just like the community that stands behind it.

We Just got home from the opening night of Young Frankenstein by Candi Badanai, and couldn’t wait until morning to share our thoughts—had to let it out while the excitement was fresh!

This show was absolutely exhilarating from start to finish. The cast delivered electric performances, bringing the wit, humor, and heart of this classic to life in a way that felt both fresh and timeless and hilarious!. The production value was top-notch, with stunning set design, seamless choreography, and amazing performances that elevated every moment. And the direction? Brilliant. Every scene was packed with energy, perfectly timed comedy, and a clear love for the craft.

With 12 shows in total, there are plenty of chances to catch this spectacular production—and trust us, you don’t want to miss it! This is local theatre at its finest, and it deserves all the support.

Go see it. Bring a friend. Laugh, be amazed, and appreciate the sheer talent on display. Bravo to everyone involved!

– Stop #2: The Outpost Campus Pub

For our second stop, we hit up The Outpost! While it’s known as a student hotspot, it’s actually open to the public and trust us, the menu has some serious variety.

We went all in and tried the wings, falafel, Malibu chicken fold (Yummm), Caprese chicken burger, chicken & waffle sandwich, fries, and udon noodles… all for just $87! Affordable, generous portions, and great flavors? Yes, please.

They also offer vegetarian, vegan, halal, and gluten-free options, so there’s something for everyone.

Pro tip: Check out the weekly specials for some serious savings!

Starting our run at the Slovak Legion!

Every two Sundays, they serve up a special meal, and we had to check it out. The meatballs and meals are hand-rolled by amazing volunteers, the buns are locally sourced, and everything is made with love.

We tried the spaghetti and meatballs in-house, which was really well cooked, or as Bruno would say, Al dente! We also grabbed takeout of their spaghetti and meatballs and lasagna, and wow, the portions are HUGE!

Highly recommend checking them out. Plus, they have a weekly Thursday & Friday buffet in-house, so don’t miss out!

Look who it isssss 👀.

We kicked off this year’s adventure at the Thunder Bay Country Market, all thanks to Mary at Crumbs , who somehow has Bol hooked on it. She also recommended we try ’s pancakes since it was a first for him —and honestly, what better way to start the Saturday?

The finladia pancake platter came with three fluffy pancakes, three sausages, and a side of hash.
Cost: $16:50

It was hearty, delicious, and definitely happy to have finally tried it.

On Christmas Eve (December 24th) we will only be open for Free Pizzas for families who need a hand.

We will be open from 11am to 1pm and doing pick-up only of XL Pepperoni and Cheese pizzas for people in need.

We will not be taking orders or answering the phone or messages or doing deliveries, just making pepperoni pizzas as fast as we possibly can and wishing people Merry Christmas.

If your family is having a hard time making ends meet this Holiday season, drop by the shop at 801 Red River rd. on December 24th between 11am and 1pm and we will send you off with an extra large pizza right out of the oven for you and yours.

We are all one community in Tbay, let's eat together.

We went to Coco Bay for dinner and we had the
Chicken noodle bowl: Salad, cucumbers, pickled carrots, crushed peanuts and choice of protein over rice noodles. Comes with Spring roll cuts

Cost : $20.95

And the Pho Tai: Rice noodles steeped in a flavourful beef broth, aromatic herbs and spices, with a fresh plate of breansprouts, basil and lime.

Cost: $20:95

Both meals were seasoned to perfection, with rich, well-balanced flavors that showed real care in their preparation. The Pho, definitely standsout, with just the right mix of spices to create a cozy, comforting experience for the chilly weather.

To top it off, the service was excellent, friendly, attentive, and incredibly accommodating.
