Michael Lindenberger, who passed away yesterday, was a dedicated member of the Texas BBQ Posse. He accompanied us on tours. We smoked some ci**rs, drank some whiskey and ate some ‘que. Along with debating the quality of the meat and the cooking, Michael always worked in some politics and affairs of the world. He loved to debate. The photo here was taken in 2011 in Marshall Cooper’s backyard in Dallas after an all-night cook and Sunday afternoon eating fest. That’s Michael on the right, with his hand around the swing support. We were joined by friends, family and DMN colleagues. Justin and Diane Fourton from Pecan Lodge and Jeff and Jill Bergus from Lockhart Smokehouse were also there. I got to preview an upcoming special at The Slow Bone in Dallas...smoked ribs and fried rice. It was terrific.

I preordered my Texas Nail today and the order process was flawless. Food was ready exactly on time.

I also got a preview of an upcoming special,
Smoked Ribs and Fried Rice. It was sensational. Fresh squash, carrots, peas, mushrooms and scallions in the fried rice along with a fried egg.

Our best wishes for the continued good health of everyone at Franklin Barbecue.

Hey everyone, I’m afraid we have some unfortunate news to share. We learned this afternoon that a member of our crew at Franklin Barbecue tested positive for Covid-19. Although it has been a full week since the team member last worked at the restaurant, and the employee is in a support role that does not involve interacting with customers or working directly with our food, out of an abundance of caution we are going to close up shop for a few days. We really apologize for the inconvenience that our closure causes, especially to those of you kind enough to have already placed orders for pickup over the next several days. We’re going to use this time to professionally clean the restaurant, of course, and to look after our employees. With a little luck we’ll be back on the smokers next week, and we appreciate so much your patience and understanding.

Y’all stay safe out there, we’re looking forward to seeing you soon.

We're hearing great things about this DFW newcomer as well, Hurtado Barbecue has it's grand opening on March 9th after a successful run as a pop-up. Posse member Michael Ainsworth has eaten Hurtado's several times now and raves about their brisket.
