The FCHS, Technology Student Association (TSA) took a trip to Perry, GA on Monday to attend Technology Day and enjoy the state fair. The students learned a lot of valuable trade information and got to enjoy the fair grounds in the evening.

🦁 Where are they now? 💚

This week we talked with Charity Henry!

Charity is a graduate of the Class of 1989. She was a member of Drama Club, Thespian Club, Anchor Club, FCA and was also the senior vice-president. Her favorite teacher was Mr. Tim Stewart. Mrs. Henry currently lives in Franklin County and teaches drama here at FCHS. Her oldest son, Connor, is a graduate of UNG and works at Royston Elementary School. Her youngest son, Eli, is a junior at FCHS and her daughter, Alex, is at Western Carolina University with plans of majoring in nursing. Her husband, Vance, is a Georgia State Trooper and a chief in the Naval Reserves.

Mrs. Henry started teaching at the age of 37, but she had many other jobs prior. In addition to teaching, she has worked as an assistant to the Georgia Secretary of the Senate, built sets for trade shows, helped run a boutique and daycare, worked as a paid actress, singer and dancer, and was a professional cheerleader! Mrs. Henry said, “I have loved all of those jobs, but the one I have now is what I am passionate about.”

🦁 Where are they now? 💚

This week we talked with Clark Williams!

Clark is a graduate of the Class of 2003. He was a member of FCA, VICA, FBLA, track and football at FCHS. His favorite teachers in school were Mrs. Monroe, Dr. Beasley, and Coach Moore. Clark is now an IT Professional Specialist for UGA Athletics. He gets to work with everyone associated with the University of Georgia Athletic Association - even Kirby Smart! 🐶

He is now married and lives in Athens with his wife Maria and their daughter, Sophia, who was born in 2019.

This week we talked with Alex King!

Alex is a graduate of the 2019 FCHS class. He was actively involved in theater in high school and his favorite class was English with Mrs. West. Alex recently moved to Los Angeles to become an actor and director. He now works on the TV show “Task Force X” that is set to start production this September. Alex also owns his own company “Pink Hero Productions”. Additionally, he’s been on 3 different movie sets, has performed stunt work and has become Meisner-trained!

🦁 Where are they now? 💚

This week we talked with Andrew Walters!

“My name is Andrew Walters. I am a graduate of FCHS, Class of 2013. My favorite class was Physics with Dr. Brandy Reid. It was a very challenging course, but it was fun and came in handy when working with systems like GPS at my current job with the United States Navy. I also participated in Band and Theatre. Both of those clubs taught me the importance of teamwork and personal accountability.

I am now a First Class Navigation Electronics Technician in the United States Navy Submarine Force stationed in Guam with my wife and daughter. I operate and maintain all equipment for ship's navigation, interior communications, and atmospheric monitoring while also charting the ship's course and planning for overall operations and events the submarine may participate in. Working on the submarine has been a unique experience that can not be replicated anywhere else. A typical day consists of driving the submarine or directing the watch team where to go, followed by preventative maintenance on a large electronic system, then free time to workout, watch movies, or read. All of this has to be done in an area about the size of a football field, only about 30 feet across, and with 150 other people. These tight spaces create challenges but also help create a close working relationship with every single person living along side you. Everyone relies on you as much as you rely on them.

It has been a challenging yet rewarding career and I am proud to be a part of it.”

🥇 We are so very proud to announce that our very own Anna Brown was the First Place Winner of the North Georgia Tech “The Future Now” Photography Competition! Anna will receive a $500 scholarship for NGT Photography and a brand new DSLR camera that she can use to keep taking some amazing pictures!

🏆Congratulations to these awesome TSA members who won 1ST PLACE for On-Demand Video at state convention last night! The team had to plan, video and edit a one minute mystery film all within 24 hours! We also had to use a spoon, water bottle and scrunchy and the line, “Has anyone seen the dog?” somewhere within the video.
