Discord said Friday it’s going to Close its Stage Discovery tool on October 4th, less than six months after it launched.

“We’re going to take some time to rethink the Discovery aspect of Stages and how we can better build a place that best connects people to the communities most relevant to them.” In listening to our communities and admins directly, we’ve learned that we still have work to do in regards to server onboarding and moderation Discord said in a release announcing the decision.

Rolled out in June, Stage Discovery was designed to help users find its social audio rooms called Stage Channels. It used machine learning to curate a list of channels a user might be interested in joining. Stage Channels have been a hit. Discord says, but it’s been keeping an eye on Stage Discovery to evaluate whether it’s meeting its goal of helping people find community.

Company says it will continue to invest in Stage Channels, adding several new features, including the ability to schedule events, extra screening capability, and improvements to its moderation tools “to help moderators on Discord keep things orderly and foster healthy engagement within their communities.

Apple‘s iPhone 13 Pro Max is the most expensive new iPhone model you can buy right now but there is, an added advantage of splashing the cash on the bigger ‘Pro’ version — an advantage that wasn’t touched upon by Apple during the launch event. According to the latest tests, the 6.7-inch iPhone tops at 27W when plugged in using a compatible power brick. Previously, the charging speeds capped out at about 22 watts.

It looks like with increasing the battery capacity on the iPhone 13 Pro Max, Apple also allowed it to support higher wattages. Unfortunately, the flagship cannot sustain this 27W power draw forever due to thermal constraints, as Apple placed limiters to prolong the battery’s and components’ lifespan. but it can continue to charge faster than its direct predecessor from last year.

The higher charging speeds appear to be limited to the iPhone 13 Pro Max model since DuanRui said that the base iPhone 13 Pro caps out at 20W.

The faster charging isn’t available with MagSafe or Qi wireless charging, which only supports 15W of charging at most. Users will also need a power adapter that supports charge rates of 9V at three amps.

Users can take advantage of the higher charging speeds with most modern 30W or higher charging bricks.

Apple has apparently thought out a plan for the next-generation AirPods Pro’s force sensor and they’re expected to launch in 2022. However, the successor to the original ‘Pro’ model will come with a bevy of new features.

Apple’s AirPods Pro cleverly solves one of the trickiest parts of earbud design with a unique button — even if it’s not technically a button at all. It will include motion sensors coupled with fitness tracking features.

Officially referred to as the “force sensor” (a title that makes the button sound far more interesting than it actually is), it’s technically nothing more than an indented portion of the AirPods Pro’s stems, with some fancy hardware that measures not just capacitive touch but also pressure. But the faux buttons solve one of the most annoying things about earbuds: how to control them.

We don’t know if these fitness tracking features are going to be within the sort of direct hardware embedded within the AirPods Pro 2 or simply exclusive software for the iPhone or iPad that users can tweak based on how frequently they exercise.

Amazon buys MGM for $8.45 billion, as they have reached a deal to acquire the film and TV company MGM (METRO GOLDWYN MAYER). It’s a significant acquisition for the e-commerce giant and that means it will own a library of content that’s reported to consist of around 17,000 hours of TV and 4,000 films. The acquisition is likely to help Amazon attract even more big-spending Prime subscribers as its Prime Video service competes with the likes of Netflix and Disney

MGM is perhaps most notable for being the Hollywood studio behind the James Bond and Rocky franchises, but its library runs the gamut from classic films like 12 Angry Men to modern TV shows like The Handmaid’s Tale and Vikings. MGM’s library also includes unscripted TV shows like The Voice and Shark Tank. Amazon says the acquisition will “provide customers with greater access” to MGM’s works and “empower” the studio to continue its “great storytelling.”
