Ønyx is an audiovisual project — when she’s not behind the camera, you can find her behind the decks. An Iranian American artist originating from Paris, Ønyx’s musical tastes are a diverse blend inspired by the eclectic sounds of breaks and deep techno rhythms. Along the way she’s played for some of LA’s most renowned dance floors like that of 6AM, Incognito, Synthetik Minds, Dirty Epic, Re/form, LickNDip, Singularity, and more, and is currently a resident for Sxtcy and Split Checks.

She’s played as support for powerhouse touring artists such as Julia Govor, Coyu, Lindsey Herbert, Ansome, Ghost in the Machine, and Rrose to name a few. She’s also contributed immensely to nightlife cinematography in Los Angeles, crafting captivating and intimate vignettes within the thumping walls of the warehouse.

Her sets are designed with the purpose of diving into one’s subconscious, making friends with one’s shadows, and feeling sensations in every part of the body. Italian duo Amethysts second release on circulate—and their first full length album—comes in the form ‘INSIDE OUR WLRD’: 12 tracks that range from inquisitive and ethereal to pulsating, peak-time techno.

In their own words: “INSIDE OUR WRLD was created with the scope of letting people inside our world through emotions or values that emerge listening to our album. Life is hard and sometimes we need to isolate ourselves in our own world… in order to think about how to be stronger.”

With each track associated with a number and letter, one may ask—why the short titles? For Amethysts, in their world only the essence exists and not the excess.
