The 8th of September was proclaimed International Literacy Day by UNESCO in 1966. Since 1967, International Literacy Day (ILD) celebrations have taken place annually around the world to remind the public of the importance of literacy as a matter of dignity and human rights, and to advance the literacy agenda towards a more literate and sustainable society. International Literacy Day 2020 provides an opportunity to reflect on and discuss how innovative and effective pedagogies and teaching methodologies can be used in youth and adult literacy programs to face the pandemic and beyond.

It is out of my comprehension why Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar is deliberately ignoring mercy call of Bihari students and their parents .These students went to Kota (Rajsthan)to prepare for various competitive examinations.These marooned students are stuck there owing to the lockdown imposed in view of Coronavirus pandemic .Was the BJP MLA's son special who was brought in ?The Chief Ministers of other states made special arrangements to get the students of their states out of Kota .Is it a crime to be a Bihari ?Nitish Kumar is also a father. .Of course,he should try to feel the discomfort and restlessness of the students and their parents as a father,not as a Chief Minister.
