As is traditional we have not taken a break for the Christmas period - oh no no, we have churned out two very special (increasingly less special as the years go on) Christmas episodes!

Last week we worked out the enterprise Santa needs to have in order to deliver presents every year and this week we explore the scientific basis for a virgin birth!

I mean... with a start to the episode like that (how many podcasts this week had an entire tangent on what if Matthew McConaughey was in the area and left a bottle of j**z on your doorstep?) you had to expect that the alternative titles were something to be beheld.

What's that... never been here before? Well, our podcast is always named after a quote from the episode. But each week we compile a short list of contenders and let you know what they were so you can play along guessing at home as you listen to the episodes. Are you in need of a new comedy podcast? Maybe one that has over three years of content, making it utterly bingeable and wonderful long term company? well, look no further than Lexx Education.

Here we do science and comedy... with a smattering of sibling rivalry. The premise is such: Laura and Ron are brother and sister. They argue more than they should as they meander through the A Level Biology science syllabus.

They started out years ago with the goal of completing the triple science GCSE syllabus and now having done that they've focused down onto biology A Level.

What you're looking at in this image are the alternative titles for this week's episode. While supposedly studying sugars (both reducing and non-reducing) they have been distracted by many things and each of these possible titles is a quote from that distraction.

We rarely beg for interaction this bluntly, but go on... what was your favourite "dog in the playground" moment as a kid? Or did you go to a sad school like Ron and just have a Nigel?

This week Laura reflects upon a change in schooling as she embarks on choosing a school for Child of the Podcast but Ron can't join in the fun because his childhood was bleak.

In amongst all this reminiscing, the science siblings also took a good and hearty look at reducing and non-reducing sugars and Benedicts Reagent.

We're edging ever closer to closing up our first section of A-Level revisited. The science siblings have been covering sugars: monosaccharides, disaccharides and polysaccharides over the last few weeks.

The last bit they need to cover is the testing for reducing and non-reducing sugars. This is Benedict's Reagent and is the last little bit they're doing before moving off sugars for a while.

It's a banging episode full of interesting history tangents like a brief dip into the history of the Philippines or the cast of Ice Age. It caters for anything you could possible want from a podcast and is available in any podcast player you choose to listen from.

Next week we dip back in to History, with the continuation of Elizabeth I's childhood before we sweep back to science for a recap test on sugars. Then, it's those end of term lessons where we get all Christmassy...
