Okay so here it goes....
My body is in so much pain right now, is it worth it? YES! So here it goes, for 12+ years I've been wanting promote and book a wrestling shows revolving around the asian community. There's not to many asian-american professional wrestlers around. When there is you only see maybe 1-2 in the same region. Yesterday at Asianfest Michigan, I finally got to live that dream.
I was ready to just hang it up for good, even with the contemplation of going back, I was firm on never returning. For 7 years, I committed.
But during that long period of time I became friends with a few more Hmong guys who also became professional wrestlers, and I really got me wanting to put on my tights one last time, the occassion had to be right, and to be honest with you, even if i got to wrestle with them at any shows, I probably would not have been satisfied, I'll tell you why and I know many of you guys may think different, but this is now my turn to be selfish and want to be selfish. I had to do it at a festival or event dedicated to asian representation, and if I had to, I'll do it myself.
After years and years Asianfest Michigan finally gave me that oppertunity.
The guys i want to give a special thanks to Albert Lee, Cho Lee, Ying Moua, and Steve Vang. These guys really encouraged me along the way and supported me along the way. These guys heard me talked about it a long time that, that I'm sure they got annoyed with me talking but not walking.
You can thank them, for giving me the motivation to get back in that ring.
What I wanted to do this time around was do what I was never allowed to dom and have much more fun that I did before.
Asian Fest yesterday was everything I ever wanted in what I wanted to do. Everyone I booked and hired to work for us, did just what I expected them to do. a special shout out to Sean Tyler and New Edge Pro Wrestling Academy for colliberating with me, and Michael Zee for taking some weight off my shoulder.
The crowd was HOT! All you who attended Asian Fest, you guys made it extra special! You did not die down one moment! I don't know if you guys were there the who entire time, but you guys stayed and kept the enegry going! I tried so hard to keep it in when I cut my first promo, I had real emotions building up in me.
I got to wrestle in 2 singles matches with my hmong brothers! We made history guys.
Unfortunately, Jimmy Wang Yang could not make his appearance due to a family emergency, and I wish him and his family well. We were going to be a tag team last night and if i was to have a last match, that's where I was going to end off on, tagging with one of my heroes growing up.
Overall, everyone involved in asian fest. My roster, my crew....Thank you. You made my vision come true.
