THE son of novelist Paul Auster was found dead from a "suspected drug overdose" just nine days after being arrested in connection with the death of his 10-month-old daughter, reports say.

Daniel Auster, 44, was reportedly found with drug paraphernalia and dosage normal to what he usually took, meaning that his death may have been accidental, multiple outlets reported.
Auster was arrested on Easter Sunday for the death of his daughter Ruby on November 1.
The infant allegedly died of a fentanyl overdose after her father took he**in and then took a nap beside her, The New York Post reported.
Daniel told the court his daughter died of a fentanyl overdose after he took he**in and napped with Ruby by his side. His wife was working at the time.
The girl’s mother, Zuzan Smith, told police that her daughter was alert and awake when she had left for work.

It was shortly after Smith left Ruby in her father’s care that Auster had injected he**in and got into bed to take a nap, according to a criminal complaint.
When he woke up, Ruby was “blue, lifeless and unresponsive,” read the complaint.
Prosecutors said the infant had enough drugs in her system to “render an adult unconscious.”
It’s unknown how drugs ended up in Ruby’s system but her father admitted to keeping he**in in his bathroom.

His lawyer, James Godfrey, told the New York Times that Auster was in drug treatment and had been recently sober.
“This case is painfully tragic, and Mr. Auster remains devastated over the loss of his beloved daughter Ruby,” Godfrey said.
“Substance use disorder is an issue that countless families reel from each year, and we caution the public to refrain from making any rush to judgment.”
An autopsy found that Ruby died of acute intoxication caused by the combined effects of he**in and fentanyl.
His award-winning father, Paul Auster, 75, is an author known for novels such as The New York Trilogy, The Book of Illusions, and Moon Palace.
Daniel had played the role of a book thief in his father’s 1995 film Smoke, starring Harvey Keitel and William Hurt.
Daniel’s mother is an author and translator Lydia Davis, 74, who was married to Paul Auster from 1974 to 1977.
Paul would later remarry in 1982 to Siri Hustvedt. The two share a daughter, musician Sophie Auster, 34.
Auster appeared to be estranged from his father but it didn’t stop the novelist from writing his son into his work.
In his 2004 work, Oracle Night, the main character is Trause who has a drug-addicted son that terrorizes his stepmother.
Paul Auster’s second wife, Siri Hustvedt, who is also an author, had declined to speak about her stepson in a Guardian interview in 2006.
“Yes. You know, I’m not going to talk about any of that, no. No,” she had said at the time.
“I know, I am married to a writer, and this - writing - is an odd enterprise. It’s something we both support strongly.
“I’ve always been behind Paul, and he’s always been behind me. I have a very strong family.”

A BOYFRIEND who met his partner's family just before they were found stabbed to death has today been charged with four counts of murder.

Joshua Jerome Derriviere Jacques, 28, has been charged with murdering a family-of-three and a grandfather after the bloody attack on Monday.
Officers reportedly Tasered him after they found him locked inside the terraced property in Bermondsey, South London, with armed cops forcing entry.
His girlfriend Samantha Drummonds, 27, her mum Tanysha Ofori-Akuffo, 45, her gran Dolet Hill, 64, and Dolet’s partner Denton Burke, 58, were all found stabbed to death.
Cops have now charged him with the quadruple murder, and he will appear at Westminster Magistrates Court today.
Jacques was taken to hospital and treated for his injuries before being charged.

Friends and relatives laid flowers and paid tribute to the family at the scene, after terrified neighbours reported hearing screaming.
Samantha, had recently moved back into her family home only a few weeks ago as her flat in Forest Hill was being refurbished.
Tanysha’s grief-stricken husband who lost his wife, step-daughter, and mother-in-law during the knife slaughter last night told The Sun “I don’t know how I will live without them.”
Tesco worker Danny Ofori-Akuffo, 62, added: “We don't know what happened or why the stabbings took place.
“All I know is I have a perfect wife, a loving mother in law, father in law and stepdaughter. We are all one family.
"My reaction at the police station was calm because I did not think it was real. But since then I have not slept. I am going crazy in my head.
"I have never experienced anything like this in my life before and I don't know where to begin.

"It has been a big blow and there is a deep hole in my heart which nothing can fill until I see my wife, my mum in law, my father in law and stepdaughter alive again."
The Met Police said this morning: "Jacques was charged on Thursday, April 28 following an investigation by homicide detectives from the Met’s Specialist Crime Command."

27/04/2022

THE heartbreaking death of a young Wisconsin girl is eerily similar to a 26-year-old cold case that inspired the Amber Alert, according to a former FBI agent.

The body of Iliana "Lily" Peters, 10, was discovered in a wooded area not far from her bike on Monday morning outside the Lienenkugel's Brewery in Chippewa Falls, which is a few blocks north of her home.
In January 1996, nine-year-old Amber Hagerman's body was found near a stream a couple days after she was snatched off her bicycle more than 1,000 miles away in Arlington Texas.
No arrests were ever made in the case, but it inspired the Amber Alert, which is a message distributed by a child abduction alert system that asks the public for help in finding kids.
Amber was the first person former FBI agent Jennifer Coffindaffer thought of after learning about Lily's tragic death.
Both girls were about the same age when they were found dead after riding their bicycles.

Their bodies were also dumped in secluded wooded areas, Coffindaffer said.
"The killer's modus operendi were the same in both cases," she said.
Although the MO was similar, it's "highly unlikely" both girls were murdered by the same person because of the length of time and distance between cases, Coffindaffer told The Sun.
But the similarities suggest there's "likely" a predator hunting in the small Wisconsin town of Chippewa Falls, the former FBI agent said.

Local police said, "There could be danger to the public," which typically means the suspect was a stranger to Lily and not known to police, according to Coffindaffer.
However, it was eventually announced that a suspect was arrested in connection with Lily's death and that the person "wasn't a stranger" to the little girl.
Chippewa Falls Police Chief Matt Kelm revealed that police had a "juvenile suspect" in custody at a press conference Tuesday evening.
Kelm said the suspect was arrested "earlier this evening", however, would not provide any more information about them, including their age. Lily's family has been made aware of the arrest.
He also added that police do not believe there is any danger to the community.
"While nothing will bring Lily Peters back, or change what happened, we are very grateful to be able to deliver this news for the family and for the community," said Kelm.
The crime scene is still being held by the security team and people are being asked to continue to avoid the area. The coroner’s office has removed Lily’s body and an autopsy is being conducted.
Kelm said the investigation is still active and tips can be called in at 1-800-263-5906 through noon tomorrow

AMERICA'S MISSING: BROADCAST EMERGENCY RESPONSE
The AMBER - America's Missing: Broadcast Emergency Response - alert was put in place the same year Amber went missing.
It's now used throughout the US, DC, Puerto Rico, Virgin Island and nearly 30 other countries and activated in the most serious child-abduction cases.
The alert is most notably sent out as an ear-splitting noise on cell phones - as well as radio, TV and road signs - to grab the attention of people near the suspected abduction and the local media.
As of December 31, 2021, 1,111 children have been recovered because of the AMBER alert, according to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
Ironically, the AMBER alert wasn't sounded when Lily's dad reported her missing Sunday night after she didn't come home from her four-block bike ride between her aunt's house and her house.
"That should've been activated immediately," said Coffindaffer, alluding to the AMBER alert. "Cell phones should've been lighting up.
"All police needed was a description of the missing girl. Once they found her bike, they knew it was foul play and the AMBER alert should've been sounded," she said.

AMBER HAGERMAN'S CASE
Amber's case remains open, and leads still come in but have continously led to dead ends.
The case gets some media attention around the anniversary of her disappearance and from some local outlets, but otherwise rarely grabs the spotlight.
That's why internet sleuth groups for specific cases have become a vital tool in finding missing persons or solving cases like Lily's, Coffindaffer said.
There are a few Facebook groups like Justice for Lily Peters that have already been created and have been active.
"Generally speaking, (social media sleuths) can be positive," Coffindaffer said.
"So many people have given up on the news, and the way they get their information is on social media, so it’s become vital that these cases are represented on social media," the former FBI agent said.
"You raise awareness and keep cases hot, and that’s crucial to keep police involved."
She used the example of the YouTuber who spotted Gabby Petito's van, which was a major break in the case.
"I don't know if they find Gabby's body without that clue," Coffindaffer said.
"There are some negatives, like when sleuths call in tips or hypotheses that aren't good and waste detectives' time. But getting the info out there and making everyone aware of what's going on is important."

WARNING TO PARENTS
A warning was issued by Lily's school, Parkview Elementary, with the administration recommending that parents refrain from letting their children walk to school alone.
"By now, you have most likely heard about the tragic incident that occurred last night into today, claiming the life of a CFAUSD student," the school's superintendent Jeff Holmes said in a Monday statement to parents.
"We do not plan to formally announce what happened, as we are not privy to those details - we believe that law enforcement needs to be the ones to decide what or how much to share in that regard."
The administration went on to say that counseling services would be made available to students as they deal with the tragedy.

A SUSPECT was arrested after the body of 10-year-old Liliana "Lily” Peters was found - and cops have confirmed that he "wasn't a stranger" to her.

Chippewa Falls Police Chief Matt Kelm revealed they had a "juvenile suspect" in custody on Tuesday, a day after the body of Lily 10, was discovered just a few blocks north of her home.
Kelm said the suspect was arrested "earlier this evening" and declined to provide any more information during a press conference.
But the police chief did acknowledge that the suspect "wasn't a stranger" to Lily.
He told reporters that the Peters family was aware of the bombshell arrest, which came after police combed the little girl's Wisconsin home and the area around her school for answers.
He said police do not believe there is any danger to the community, however, after the death of Lily sparked widespread fears of a predator on the loose.

"While nothing will bring Lily Peters back, or change what happened, we are very grateful to be able to deliver this news for the family and for the community," he told reporters.
He pointed out purple ribbons placed all throughout Chippewa Falls in honor of Lily, whose remains were discovered not far from her bike outside the Lienenkugel's Brewery on Monday.
"And, honestly, I would expect nothing less from the Chippewa Falls community," Kelm added, after local police came under fire for not immediately issuing an AMBER Alert.
Over 200 tips were received by the police department, according to Kelm, which were “critical” to solving the case.

The crime scene is still being held by the security team and people are being asked to continue to avoid the area.
The coroner’s office have removed Lily’s body and an autopsy is being conducted.
A search was launched at 9pm on Sunday, when Lily's father told police that Lily never returned home from visiting her aunt's house, which is four blocks from their family home.
As K9 and search teams scoured the area, a bicycle was found in the woods near a walking trail that bordered a local brewery's parking lot.
The missing person investigation turned into a homicide probe after police found Lily's body at about 9.15am on Monday.
Kelm said her body was found near the Duncan Creek Trail, in the same area where the bike was discovered.

COMMUNITY SHAKEN
As the police chief said investigators were following "multiple leads" in the probe, the community came together to honor Lily.
A prayer vigil was held for her on Monday night and a memorial has been placed near where her body was found.
“The people of our community are honest, hard-working, and kindhearted," Chief Kelm said.
"It’s almost impossible to believe that something this horrific could happen in our city.
"And an event like this threatens our sense of security."
Residents shared their shock over Lily's death in a Facebook group titled "Justice for Iliana "Lily" Peters.
"Is it normal for a 10 year little girl to be able to go 4 blocks alone?" one commenter wrote.
"Maybe I’m over protective [sic] but at 10 I would not allow my daughter to go more than 2 houses away."
Others suggested that residents in the area should check their surveillance footage while also sharing their grief for Lily and her family.
"I'm praying for this family. How horrible," one community member said.
"Our kids aren't safe to walk the streets no matter how close it is or how small the town."
Anyone with information about Lily's death was asked to contact the Chippewa County Dispatch Center at 715-726-7701 and select Option 1.

THE man suspected of murdering Orsolya Gaal in her own home may have run his own YouTube channel with videos on crime and how to seduce women.
The channel bore the name "David Bonola" the name of the handyman who allegedly confessed to the brutal stabbing of the mother-of-two.

There are thousands of videos carefully organized into multiple playlists, including over 750 videos of local news reports about violent crimes, including rapes, murders and shootings.
Some of the videos were about high-profile murders similar to the one that Bonola, 44, allegedly committed after confronting Gaal, 51, at her home in Queens, New York.
Bonola claims that he and the married woman had an on-off affair for two years, culminating in the alleged murder when the handyman confronted Gaal about the relationship.
His alleged channel contained clips about the stabbing death of 18-year-old Barnard College student Tessa Majors back in 2019 during a botched robbery in Harlem.

A news report about the death of s*x therapist Amie Harwick, the ex-fiancee of actor Drew Carey, was also shared on the channel.
A playlist named “interesting” featured a video titled How an AK-47 Works.
Multiple videos had a theme about s*x and dating, including many on how to pick up women or win back a woman who is no longer interested in you.
One playlist contained over 200 videos in the same vein with a clip called 7 Mindsets That Attract Women Like Crazy.
“By owning these mindsets, along with of course having pickup fundamentals, you basically become unstoppable with women, said “professional dating coach” Matt Artisan of The Attractive Man.
Other videos in the playlist included: 3 “Older Guy” Attraction Tricks that will Attract ALL Women, How to Be Instantly Irresistible and How To Get A Girlfriend (Even If She’s Not Interested In You At First).
There were even videos that contained s*xually graphic tips and tricks such as 3 Ways To Please A Girl In Bed (Dirty Moves To Try) and How To Go Down On A Woman.
Aside from those, there were also playlists with videos on how to cope with breakups, affairs gone bad and how to deal with “narcissists.”
How To Get Your Ex To Think About You Constantly, promised one clip along with another one titled How to Break the Loop of Obsession.
There was also a playlist that shared music, including one full of rap videos that featured a haunting type in its title: “rapers.”
Last Thursday, Bonola was charged with murder, criminal tampering and criminal possession of a weapon for allegedly stabbing Gaal almost 60 times in her home while her youngest son was upstairs.

HISTORY OF 'CREEPY' BEHAVIOR
Bonola appears to have a pattern of creepy behavior, allegedly visiting a Starbucks in Forest Hills and leaving love notes for the baristas.
Former barista Oliwia Pikulinski told the New York Post: “He was creepy, he stalked people. Everyone knew he was a weird individual.”
Pikulinski claimed that Bonola would “drop in the tip jar love notes and songs that he would make about us.”
“He even went as far as proposing to two of us, which is super unsettling because of how weird the interactions were,” she added.
The man would visit the coffee shop multiple times a week, ordering the same items - a dark roast pour-over and a lemon loaf or banana but loaf, according to Pikulinski.
During his time there, Bonola would allegedly proposition the female staff, giving them notes and pieces of jewelry.
Pikulinski claimed the man would ask the workers “personal questions” such as their birthdays, ages and where they lived.
“It was personal information that a customer should never ask,” she said.
“I’m speechless that it was him after all the creepy incidents that happened and how unsettling he made everyone feel, especially the females I worked with and even the customers in the lobby. It’s crazy to think about.”
Police were often called by the baristas but by the time they arrived, Bonola would be gone.
An NYPD spokesperson told the Post that they have harassment complaints on file, but nothing that matched the ex-worker's allegations.

A MAN who died after being fatally stabbed by an attacker who forced his way into his East London home has been named by police.
Elliot Francique was found by Metropolitan Police officers in his bedroom at a home in Plaistow, on Tuesday, having suffered multiple stab wounds.
Despite receiving treatment by paramedics, Elliot sadly died at the scene.
The Met said the "frenzied attack" was carried out on Tuesday by a black male dressed in black clothing who forced his way into the property and stabbed Elliot several times, before leaving the scene on foot to Park Grove and from there towards Chad Green.
Detective Chief Inspector Kelly Allen said police were carrying out a murder investigation and said Elliot's family is being supported by specialist officers.
She said: "Our inquiries include door-to-door inquiries in the area and the examination of hours of CCTV footage from a number of surrounding locations.
"I am grateful to those people who have already come forward to speak with us and urge anyone with information who hasn't yet been in touch to call us without delay.
"Even the smallest piece of information could corroborate something we have already been told, or might be the missing part of the timeline of events that we are building.
"It is our mission to remove dangerous weapons, and the dangerous people who use them, from London's streets.
"Please help us make your city safer by telling us what you know."
Anyone with information or footage can contact police on 020 83451 570 or 101, quoting the reference 4484/19APR, or to remain anonymous contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555111 or online.

A MAN allegedly stuffed the body of a mom into her own son's hockey bag and reportedly went to the hospital to treat his injuries before he was arrested.
David Bonola, 44, has been charged with the murder of Orsolya Gaal, 51, after confessing to the gruesome killing amid claims the pair had an affair for two years on and off.

Orsolya was allegedly murdered in the early hours of Saturday in the basement of her $2million home in Queens after returning from a night out.
Following Bonola's arrest, police revealed shocking information about what happened in the run-up to Orsolya's death.
Bonola, a handyman, showed up at Orsolya's home, and the two argued before he allegedly murdered her in her own basement.
He allegedly told officers he'd been having an affair with Orsolya and admitted to having an argument with her before the brutal stabbing.
Images shown in a press conference illustrated the weapon that was used to kill the mom - a kitchen knife.

The married mother-of-two, who originally hails from Hungary, was stabbed nearly 60 times, suffering dozens of wounds to her neck, torso and left arm.
Following her murder, the killer was seen wheeling her body through the neighborhood in a black Bauer hockey bag at 4.30am Saturday before discarding it in the middle of a sidewalk about nine blocks away.
Police later revealed that the hockey bag belonged to Orsolya's son.
After the bag was found, police discovered a jacket, believed to be worn by Bonola, as well as boots, a T-Shirt and bloody bandages.
Investigators found possible defensive wounds on Orsolya's hands and the insides of her fingers, suggesting she attempted to fend off her attacker before she was killed.
Bonola also received treatment for wounds to both hands following the attack, police said.
The suspect was pictured walking down the street with bandages on his hand.

'ON AND OFF AFFAIR'
Orsolya and Bonola were said to have had an intimate affair, on and off for two years, which was considered at an end, police said.
The pair had broken up previously, cops added but had reunited in early April.
They were previously seen interacting on Facebook, with an account under the name David Bonola liking a post where Orsolya described "where my heart is at peace."
The same account also commented "Hola" with a love heart emoji on a photograph of Orsolya as a child. She liked the comment.
Orsolya's youngest son, 13, was home at the time of her death but believed to be in his room on the top floor. He was questioned by police and later released.
Her husband, Howard Klein, was out of town visiting prospective colleges with their eldest son at the time of her death.
On the night of her death, Orsolya had been out with friends to see a show in Manhattan before returning to Queens around midnight. She was reportedly spotted sitting alone in a local bar for 40 minutes, waiting for someone.
It’s currently unclear if the mom had ever met up with the person she appeared to have been waiting for.
Police claim Bonola confessed to sending the threatening messages from Orsolya's phone to her husband, which read: "Your wife sent me to jail some years ago... I'm back."
Officials said Bonola also threatened to kill the entire family if he contacted the police.
When reached by phone, friends of Orsolya's said they were unable to speak with the press under instructions from the NYPD.
Orsolya's husband has not yet returned a request for comment from The US Sun.
