The two Ships one departing and one heading to the Port Of Olympia. The Global Ambition and the Inland Sea, passisng in Commencement Bay within 1/2 a mile, before 2:00 AM this Saturday Morning. My Warning alarm went off but it was too dark to do any filming.

STILL INVOLVED AFTER 21 YEARS: During my twenty one years working with the United States Coast Guard, I had the opportunity to be sent under orders to six USCG Expos, two Small Vessel Security Treats Forums, and one Law Enforcement Vessel Conference.. At one of the USCG Expos in New Orleans, we were visited by then the Commandant of the USCG. Admiral Allen. Also pictured with her back to the my Camera was an RCMP Officer from British Columbia Canada. The RCMP started a sister program of our USCG "Citizen's Action network" with the same name. So our Shoreline Security program involved all of USCG District 13 but also went up into Canada. Great working relationship. The 2nd picture is when the USCG Commandant, Admiral Collins visted our Booth at a USCG Expo in California. On the Right is my USCG POC, Lt. Commander Andre Billeaudeaux who started and was in charge of three of the D-13 Security programs, (Eyes on the Sound) (Northwest Watch) and the USCG (Citizen's Action Network" Andre then went on to beiing promoted to USCG Commander personally awarded by then Commandant Allen. Next to Commandant Collins is PA Adam Eggars, who later served at the Pentagon for the USCG in Public Affairs, and finally me, Robert Lyden, DSO, Aux. District 13 USCG.

Added Pictures: Arthur Foss Tugboat Pictures 1981 plus, taken by Robert Lyden at the Old Navy Reserve Training Center located at the South End of Lake Union, and a few taken in Kirkland Washington sometime in the earl1980's by Robert Lyden. Many of these were section pictures to show various parts of the Historic Tug Boat.

There are several projects that could potentially impact Pierce County Ferry riders in 2021. We will continue to keep you updated as we have new information to share. *The Eckenstam-Johnson Road project is continuing to seek environmental permits and right-of-way easements. The start date is TBD and may also be impacted by tide status and fish windows.

The last Ferry on Anderson Island left over seven (7) Vehicles on this Tuesday March 2nd, and now the next Ferry arriving at Steilacoom (NOW 3:45 PM) looks like many vehicles will again be left behind. Make sure you attend the next Ferry meeting or on-line meeting and ask questions on whether more ferry runs wilth both vessels will be added this summer. The growth continues on the Island, but the Ferry Service needs to also grow

My Best Friend Stan Hendricks, who I first met in Junior High at Marcus Whitman, which was a brand new Junior High in North Seattle, and then onto Ballard High School in the Mid 1960's would have been 74 Tomorrow, but Stan died of Cancer in December 2020 before Christmas. These Pictures were taken at our House on April 30th, 1994 and Stan and his Wife Bonnie caught some trout in our Lake on the Island. (Born March 3rd,1947) - We wished each other a Happy Birthday almost every year. My Birthday is March 23rd.

Anderson Island Ferry Ramp collapsed in a Powerful wind storm in 2007. Pierce County responded very fast and leased a Passenger Only Ferry that picked up Passengers in Oro Bay and the Tacoma YC Dock and in Steilacoom, WA.

Our Old Baby "The TrevisDon" a 1966 Chris Craft our new Sterling 15 1/2 Footer with a 40 E-Tec Engine. 2007 was an expensive tear. The work done in the Gig Harbor Ship Yard was over $ 4,500 then they forgot to repair our leaking cast iron exhaust pipes and forgot to complete the hull painting. then we bought the new Sterling 15 1/2 foot walk around which was made in OREGON CITY , OREGON AND SOLD THROUGH TOM'S OUTBOARD - in Olympia Wa. That is Tom assisting me launch the Sterling.

Bison Express Livestock Carrying Ship Loading Pregant Dairy Cows (Approx. 1,700 Plus) and their feed including Hay at the Port Of Olympia.

The Trucks hauling the Dairy Cows heading to Viet Nam are held in Yelm for a few days and are inspected by the FDA, before they are released for shipment. i believe the voyage to Vietnam takes approximately 15 days. Note: They have two Livestock trucks backed close by to keep the loading operation going. These Dairy Cows come from all over the USA but mainly from Washington, Oregon, Idaho and California. February 24th, 2021.

The Livestock carrying Ship, the Bison Express in the Port Of Olympia WA. Yesterday, Feb. 23rd, 2021, loading feed for the Dairy Cows onto the Bison Express that departed early from the Port of Olympia on Wed. Morning and went past Anderson island at 5:34 AM in the Dark. Video by Robert Lyden. Unfortunately a few rain drops on my Cam lens.

For more than 6 years I have received email communications from “Robert from Anderson Island”.

He tracks every vessel that comes and goes from our marine terminal, and takes pics and videos as they pass by his home. He shares articles from around the world regarding the cargoes we move through our Port, and every once in a while he shares a story about his life.

For more than 6 years Robert and I have communicated via email.

Today, we got to meet in person.
