We have wonderful first responders in our locality. With La Honda Fire Brigade arriving first at the scene on Portola State Park Road yesterday. Cal Fire arrived shortly after with three big trucks and a pickup. Plus an ambulance got there in time to transport the stabilized patient to the hospital. We hope he is doing okay.

Road Closure Alpine Road

Alpine Road will be closed from Pescadero Creek Road to Highway 35 due to heavy construction equipment stuck at 9000 Alpine Road. There is currently no estimated time for the road to reopen.

This morning Alpine Road was blocked by the tree with caution tape hanging from it. There is another snag hanging above. The location is just past the straightaway west of Heritage Grove Traffic was being stopped until a tree company arrived from over the hill to remove the hazards. Small cars and bicycles could have gone underneath but were not allowed due to instability of the trees.

However, a large contingent of motorcycle law enforcement officers was allowed to proceed.

Perhaps at the time this is being posted the trees will have been removed.

Alert for Thursday, October 29, 2020 — trucks on the road!

A local resident has alerted us that a ten wheeler truck will be up and down Alpine and Portola State Park Rd. all day. The local man will pilot the truck up and down Portola State Park Rd, but NOT Alpine. He urges all to be careful.

A tree is across the power line so residents on PSP Rd. May lose power while repairs are made. The line was sparking but firefighters are on scene.

There appears to be a fire in Pescadero County Park. A Cal Fire helicopter had apparently been airlifting water from local reservoirs to dampen it.
