Day 7
How would you like to take a peek behind the curtain of Revox video shoots? Sure, we love sharing the finished results with you, but so much goes on "BTS" as they say, and we'd love to share the fun with you!
Tools of the Trade - we like to call this our "studio in a bag." We film video content with a Sony A7ii with two different lenses. One lens is perfect for filming interviews (35mm) and the other is great for zooming in on action shots (70mm). We also carry some wireless Rode Go mics for interviews, a set of LED lights, and a DJI Ronin for a steady and smooth b-roll.
Interview Setup - Revox's specialty is filming testimonial-style videos that tell a compelling story. That means we prep questions, send them in advance, and make sure our "subject" is fully prepared for their time on camera. Once we arrive for filming, we keep things ultra-casual and promote a conversation-style interview (as pictured).
Where the MAGIC happens - our favorite part of the video storytelling process is the editing or "post-production." This is when our editing team pieces together your story and brings to life your mission and message. We typically provide the client with 1-2 drafts for review before cutting the final video and delivering it to them. Oftentimes, we also assist with optimizing and posting the video to the client's social media channels as well.
And that's a wrap! Well, not completely. There are plenty of out-takes and bloopers that we promised our clients we wouldn't share ;) But overall, we've shared some of our processes when creating high-quality video content for our clients and we'd love to do the same for you!

The 3 Cs of excuses
Have you told yourself you're going to film more videos but come up short? The most common issues we hear from our clients are what we call, "The 3 Cs of excuses."
- I don't have any content worth filming
- I don't feel comfortable being on camera
- I don't have the right camera or equipment
Today, let me help you break down these barriers in the same way we do for our clients so that you can finally make 2024 the year you focus on video!
1. Content worth filming can be anything from "behind the scenes" of your store or a positive customer testimonial. Basically, if it's worth posting about, it's worth considering a video. Looking for more content to film? Ask yourself "What are some common questions or problems your customers face?" and film short videos about how you help them overcome those.
2. If you don't feel comfortable being on camera, well, join the club! No one LOVES being filmed but it's important that if you are visible in person to your customers, you also are visible on camera. One tip that always helps our clients to feel more comfortable is to have them filmed "interview style" rather than looking directly into the camera. If you still refuse to be on camera, find an employee, family member, or happy customer to film some videos about your business.
3. The best camera you have is the one in your pocket right now...your smartphone! And while I've spent thousands of dollars on my video equipment, all you need to film video content is a MESSAGE and a MOBILE DEVICE. Which, I'm assuming you have both, right? Sure, you can upgrade your tools as you elevate your video marketing but for now, use your phone, face a window (ie natural lighting), and download a free editing app like CapCut and you're in business!
