8 STRAIGHT GOOD HOURS OF LOAD-SHEDDING IS TOO MUCH OF A BURDEN TO TRODDEN ZAMBIANS IN THIS AILING ECONOMY_ LM.
Leadership Movement Party ( LM) Secretary General Jairos Ngoma says that it's unacceptable for Zesco to subject Zambian's to 8 hours straight of load-shedding in this dwindling economy which has further contributed to the crippling and killing of small businesses such as saloons, barbershops, welding, and restaurants among others, that poor citizens are relying on to make ends meet.
The LM Secretary General has questioned how the Republican President Mr Hakainde Hichilema boasts of being a Chief Marketer of Zambia, when he has never gone out to strike cheaper deals with Major economies like Russia who have shifted from the use of Hydro power to generate electricity but are using Uranium which is available in Zambia.
Speaking during a Media briefing in Lusaka, Mr Ngoma expressed concern that the UPND government is just good at semantics and selling state owned businesses like Mopani mines but cannot clearly explain or show tangible solutions that they have come up with to adress the Hunger situation and high cost of living that it has subjected citizens to during it's turnure in office.
He added that the relief food that government is claiming to give out to rural communities that are adversely affected by hunger is not enough to cater for everyone indicating that in a village where they are about 200 people, only 3 bags of maize grains is given which is grinded into mealie meal and because of the love they have for one another they have no option but to share amongst themselves.
Mr Ngoma also said that LM has been for a long time been advocating for Winter maize production under ZNS state owned farms, as well as massive Production in the Mining sector, but Government never acknowledged them, rather it has now adopted the same ideologies though in bits and now claims to have commenced cultivation of land in readiness for Winter maize
ENCOURAGE ZAMBIANS TO BE PRODUCTIVE BY EMPOWERING THEM &STOP CALLING THEM LAZY-NGOMA URGES HH.
By Hellen Bwalya.
20/03/24
Leadership Movement Party Secretary General Jairos Ngoma says that availability of affordable food commodities should currently be top priority in Zambia above anything else and Leaders should strive to ensure that Hunger is mitigated with the urgency it deserves.
Mr Ngoma says that Government prioritizing other things like Free Education, which in the actual sense isn't free, but partial Education isn't going to solve the many Challenges that Zambians are facing pointing out that even with the so called free Education;no Child will learn anything with the looming Hunger that has hit the Nation.
Speaking during the Weekly Presser at Leadership Movement Party Secretariat in Lusaka, Mr Ngoma said that the President being the Father of the nation should be in the front line to encourage Zambians to be productive, and not calling them Lazy.
He said that the President during his National Address on National Values and Guidance should have been about reviving hope in Citizens and not castigating them and labeling them as lazy people.
Mr Ngoma said that the President was supposed to remind and give a proper directive on how the Nation should be engaged in massive Production to curb Hunger and many economic hardships people are faced with.
He also advised Government to stop issuing contradicting statements citing Minister of Information and Media Cornelius Mweetwa who went on rampage claiming there was no hunger in the Country just few days after the President declared Drought as a National Disaster.
Mr Ngoma expressed concern over Mr Mweetwa's remarks questioning why the President declared Drought as a National disaster if indeed there was no looming Hunger in the Country.
He added that the country is hit with effects of drought hence it is not wise for the government spokesperson to issue contradicting statements that exposes their lack of coh
GIVE LAND TO WOMEN AS A FORM OF INVESTMENT.NGOMA
...in order to make this year's international women's day theme relatable and not vague.
By Hellen Bwalya.
Leadership Movement Party Secretary General Jairos Ngoma has challenged Government to empower women with land by removing all hurdles that hinder them from easily accessing title deeds so that they can utilize it in the production of food crops and contribute to the national food basket.
The Secretary General notes that the Theme alone coupled without action is mockery to the Women hence according to Leadership Movement Party and Dr Richard Silumbe,it should have been "Give Land to Mother's and be Productive on it"because what investment can there be if one doesn't have the resources to invest on.
Mr Ngoma said that women are very hardworking beings that have the ability to maximize resources thus if they're empowered with enough land to Cultivate and Produce food crops, this country wouldn't have hunger situations or high Costs of food products.
He added that Women can be empowered with free or affordable irrigation systems in the midst of these droughts so that they can quickly start farming winter Maize in order to cushion the current high mealie meal prices that are likely to persist if nothing is done.
Mr Ngoma also expressed concern over the District Commissioner's behavior in Kasenengwa District at Kasuma Primary school where he wanted to disrupt women who came together to celebrate Women's Day, and told them to go and celebrate from their homes; but it took the intervention of Chief Mishoro who came to the aid of the women and allowed them to go ahead with their celebration though under police presence.
He wondered how the same government was talking about investing in women, when in other parts of the Country it was brutalizing and intimidating the same women.
Mr Ngoma further stated that one can not talk about investment when you are giving land to foreigners citing Kanyelele Gold mine in Mpi
LM CHALLENGES GOVT TO PROVIDE A PREPARATORY ROADMAP FOR WINTER MAIZE.
By Hellen Bwalya.
Leadership Movement Party Secretary General Jairos Ngoma has challenged the government to show the nation where they have started preparing land for winter Maize following the President's declaration of drought as a National disaster.
Mr Ngoma said that this is the right time for government to reveal where and how they're going about with the cultivation of Winter maize unlike just using semantics when in the actual sense there is nothing taking place.
Speaking during a Media Weekly Presser at party Secretariat in Lusaka; Mr Ngoma said Leadership Movement Party has been consistent in urging government to go the route of winter Maize looking at the prevailing climate changes, but government seemed not to adhere to it's advice.
He said by now ZNS would have already started preparing state farms for winter Maize to curb the shortages of Maize grains and high mealie meal Costs.
Mr Ngoma questioned how now that there is drought farmers who were pushed to get farming loans will be able to pay back the loans because their crops are destroyed due non availability of rainfall.
He also expressed concern over Minister of Agriculture quietness on farmers current struggles when he was in the forefront advocating for these loans, stating that he should now go back on the ground and explain to the people how they're going to pay back the loans with the current situation.
Mr Ngoma advised the Head of State President Hakainde Hichilema not to be misled by Hon Mutolo Phiri because there is no where in the Country he has recorded a successful distribution of farming inputs.
He again advised the President to also look at ensuring that the mineral reserve agency is operationalized for production to be a success and put a derent on corruption so that no one should abuse public resources.

PRESIDENT HH SHOULD LEAD THE WAY IN MAKING PEACE WITH THE CATHOLIC CHURCH.NGOMA
By Hellen Bwalya.
20/02/24.
Leadership Movement Party Secretary General Jairos Ngoma has urged President Hakainde Hichilema to lead the way and apologize to the Catholic Church over UPND Party Secretary General Butuke Imenda's alleged sentiments that he uttered towards Arch Bishop Alick Banda calling him a "Lucifer".
Mr Ngoma said that for Peace to reign, the President as Leader of UPND should spearhead in reconciling the Church before even rushing to hold Prayers with other church leaders when the Catholic Church in this case is still injured with words that came from his camp.
Speaking during a Media Weekly engagement in lusaka, Mr Ngoma said that the bible is very clear that before one seeks God,they need to make peace with those they have offended for God to answer their Prayers.
He said the same way the President is quick to travel for other international meetings is the same way he should be quick to meet the Catholic Bishops and iron out issues that they requested an apology for because this is as important as other national matters.
Mr Ngoma also urged the UPND Secretary General to just humble himself and apologize to the Catholic Bishops because him being the CEO of the Party his utterances carries a lot of weight; that is why now you will find cadres insulting innocent people offering credible checks and balances on Radio stations because his words laid a foundation.
Mr Ngoma furthermore asked government to look into the affairs of the Media for National development to be enhanced.
He said that no one speaks for the Media's conditions of service, not even waivering some of the taxes so that media owners can improve the livelihood of journalists.
Mr Ngoma also called out Minister of Labour Brenda Tambatamba to add a voice to the walfare of the Media especially salaries for Journalists because they are the forth estate who speaks for everyone but has no one to speak for t

By Hellen Bwalya
12.02.24
Leadership Movement Party _LM Secretary General Jairos Ngoma has hailed President Hakainde Hichilema's stance surrounding Barotseland and also reminded him that "One Zambia one Nation" should be reflected on the equal access to affordable food commodities Countrywide.
Ngoma stated that Unitary State shouldn't just be a word of mouth but should be demonstrated by providing all Citizens with affordable Cost of living especially mealie meal which is the staple food.
Addressing the Media at LM Secretariat in Lusaka; the LM Secretary General has questioned Political Parties trying to gain political capital on the Barotse issue why they did not seek counsel from the Former First Republican President Late. Kenneth Kaunda because he was very much around for a long time to give guidance.
Ngoma has questioned the interest of all those brewing this issue at the expense of many economic hardships the Country is currently facing, stating that no one is going to entertain being taken aback to old times.
He challenged the President to look into the plight of Farmers and find workable solutions that will ensure farmers access farming inputs at an affordable price unlike what is currently happening.
"The president is a Farmer himself, what has he done for his fellow farmers to improve their livelihood."
Mr Ngoma added that Leadership Movement Party and Dr Richard Silumbe will continue to speak for the marginalized Farmers because they are the ones that feed the Nation.
He said tribal talks, or any talks that incites division should not be entertained at the expense of progressive talks such as Production that will see the Nation come out hunger crisis and stir up Economic Development.

STOP USING BY-ELECTIONS AS FEEDING PROGRAMS TO ERADICATE HUNGER IN ZAMBIA. NGOMA WARNS.
By Hellen Bwalya.
Leadership Movement (LM) Secretary General Jairos Ngoma has sent a stern warning to the " New Dawn Administration" to stop "dangling a carrot" to electorates by slaughtering cows and only feeding people during by-elections as hunger should not be used to lure voters into participating in the unnecessary by-elections.
Mr Ngoma says the tactics of politicians of aiding electorates by slaughtering cows and giving bicycles during by-elections in the name of disaster mitigation but disappear once they scoop the seats, has not started now, hence Leadership Movement is not threatened by the act but cautioned the UPND government to desist from triggering unnecessary by-elections because there are so many pertinent issues that it should be focusing on such as venturing into production that will help recover the dwindling Zambian economy.
Speaking during the Weekly Presser at the party Secretariat, Mr Ngoma warned that the 'Mingalato' that ECZ played in Central Province where the LM candidate was knocked out technically just exposes the commission's incompetence and unfair handling of nomination procedures.
He added that if the UPND thinks that these by-elections are a true reflection of how people are happy of their achievements made so far on the ground, then they should prepare for a rude shock, because even their predecessor, the PF used to win by-elections, but tumbled in the August 12th General Elections.
The LM Secretary General also said, colossal sums of money spent on organizing by-elections can be used to revamp government printers if ballot papers are printed locally.
He added that by doing away with unnecessary by-elections where Council development Committees are given leeway of continuity during a vacancy in the councilor's office, the money can be channeled to more fertilizer production that will translate into the eradication of mealie

By Hellen Bwalya.
Zambia has improved its performance on Corruption perception index score for the first time in ten years from 33 out of 100 progression in 2022 to 37 out of 100 in 2023.
This is in accordance with Transparency International Zambia TIZ Corruption perception index report.
TIZ Advocacy and Research Manager Bright Chizonde says that although there is a 4 point improvement in the CPI score, it does not denote that the prevalence of corruption has completely diminished to Zero because the menace continues to be a malady in Zambi as the country remains an underperformer in the sub region.
In his presentation of the report, Mr Chizonde elaborates that Countries such as Tanzania, South Africa, Namibia, Rwanda, and Botswana have all performed fairly than Zambia in 2023.
According to TIZ, this news is excitingly in the Country's quest to fight corruption and the Corruption perception index report released in Lusaka on Monday is motivation enough to soldier on and curb the vice.
'this is exciting news in the Country's fight against corruption after years of decline and stagnation".

Officiating at the Launch of the TIZ Report, Mrs Daka-Oteng said Government has moved forward important legal reforms that have paved way for higher levels of transparency that includes the recent enactment of the access to information act.
And ACC Director General Tom Shamakamba revealed that the commission is developing a bill on Asset declaration for all public officers.
Mr Shamakamba added that this initiative is aimed at enhancing transparency among public offices bearers and strengthening law enforcement investigative operations.

NGOMA URGES ZNS TO SHOW THE NATION WHERE THEY HAVE STORED MAIZE THAT THEY ARE MILLING FOR THE ZAMBIAN CONSUMERS.
By Hellen Bwalya.
27.01.24
Leadership Movement Party Secretary General Jairos Ngoma has challenged the Zambia National Service ZNS to show or reveal to the Nation where they have stored up tonnages of maize grains that they are using for eagle mealie meal meant for Zambia's consumption.
This came up after the Minister of Information and Media Hon Cornelius Mweeta refuted allegations that the government was importing GMO Maize from South Africa to feed the Nation, but that the GMO mealie meal is enroute for DR Congo market and that ZNS are just their to facilitate smooth escort.
Mr Ngoma argued that ZNS doesn't have any state farm where they grow maize grains for them to refuse that they are not importing GMO Maize, hence if they are being honest then it's incumbent that they show the nation where their tonnages of maize is kept in order for them to continue the Supply of mealie meal for the Zambian Market.
During the Weekly Presser at Leadership Movement Party Secretariat in Lusaka, Mr Ngoma lamented that cost of Fertilizer keeps on skyrocketing and Farmers cannot manage to buy a lot of bags in order to increase the production of maize during this farming season so that they can have better yields.
He also added that Electricity is still expensive for millers to produce more mealie meal thus the cost of a bag of mealie meal on the market keeps on surging.
Mr Ngoma said Government needs to set their priorities right if they are honest about solving the challenges majority Zambians are facing.
He further commended the Electoral Commission of Zambia ECZ for adhering to his Party's call to go ahead with the Mayembe by-elections in Shiwang'andu of Muchinga Province. And also sent a strong warning that as Party CEO, he will never allow selfish individuals to use Leadership Movement Party to trigger by-elections or fresh nominations when a candidate is

NGOMA URGES ECZ TO CARRY ON WITH MAYEMBE WARD BY-ELECTIONS. LMP
By Hellen Bwalya.
20.01.24
Leadership Movement Party(LMP) Secretary General Jairos Ngoma has directed the Electoral Commission of Zambia ECZ to go ahead with the by-elections in Shiwang'andu Mayembe Ward as their is no withdrawal of Participation from his Party.
The Secretary General says that as it stands, Leadership Movement Party hasn't written any letter to ECZ indicating the withdrawal of Mr Jason Mwanza as a participating candidate for the upcoming council ward by election and have not received or seen any reports of corruption on the ground as purported by the said candidate.
Speaking during a Media briefing in Lusaka, Mr Ngoma clarified that Mr, Mwanza only got permission to go and see his sick mum, and he wonders where Mr Mwanza witnessed the said corruption he is alleging.
He said that as Leadership Movement Party, they are in no receipt of the alleged resignation letter circulating the media from Mr Mwanza and it's only right for him to first seek the indulgence of the Party Secretariat because he is not appearing on the ballot as an independent candidate but on the ticket of Leadership Movement Party.
Mr Ngoma said Leadership Movement Party doesn't not allow withdrawal of candidates from participating in Elections because it's a wastage of money and resources that can be channeled towards improving lives of poor Zambians. And warned that no one should use Leadership Movement Party to trigger a fresh nomination of ward elections in Shiwang'andu.
He cautioned the UPND government to stop triggering unnecessary local council by-elections in the name of employing councillors in civil service as it is a waste of resources that can be used in revamping Nitrogen Chemicals of Zambia thus increasing local Farmers production to curb the current hunger situation.
Mr Ngoma stated that their should be a transition where ward development Committees take charge when a Councillor resigns "Let Ward

By Hellen Bwalya.
13.01.24
Leadership Movement Party Secretary General Jairos Ngoma has condemned the intimidation and abruptly cutoff a TV program,as well as subsequently firing of a Journalist who hosts Opposition Party leaders on Air with divergent views.
Mr Ngoma expressed sadness stating that the UPND Party condemned this very act when it was done by their predecessor for closing the Post Newspaper and other media houses yet they're also following the same steps of intimidation.
Speaking during the Weekly Presser at party Secretariat in Lusaka today, the secretary general said that if the ruling party doesn't like Leadership Movement holding talk shows, it's better they tell media owners not to be hosting them unlike firing innocent Journalists.
Mr Ngoma said that the Media is a blood line of production in the Country and there is no way one can talk about successful production without the involvement of the Media because they're key partners, that is why his President Dr Richard Silumbe embraces them and will ensure they operate in a safe space come 2026.
Despite the harsh conditionalities the Media is subjected to work under; Mr Ngoma encouraged them to continue reporting and working hard because once they relent and keep quiet, then they will be doing a deservice to the Nation.
He said the UPND government wouldn't have been were it is right now,had it not been for the input of the Media.
Mr Ngoma said that people thought that the New Dawn Administration has now come with a breather of
Media freedom but alas! Ministry of Information and Media PS Thabo Kawana has now made it clear that they did not mean that they will never close any Media down should it allow any divergent views of division.
Mr Ngoma said that as Leadership Movement Party they don't go around TV or Radio stations to insult the Government, but rather go their to give credible checks and balances and speak for th
DON'T ADMINISTER CHOLERA VACCINES WITHOUT FIRST PROVIDING FOOD TO PEOPLE _NGOMA.
By Hellen Bwalya.
07.01.24
Leadership Movement Party Secretary General Jairos Ngoma has expressed concern over the on going administering of cholera vaccines to people in cholera prone areas without the provision of food or affordable food supply stating that there is no way one can take any medication without eating first.
Mr Ngoma said that the pandemic has spread fast due to hunger and economic hardships people are subjected to as well as lack of supply for clean water and good sanitation.
Speaking during the Weekly Presser at party Secretariat, Mr Ngoma wondered how the call by the Minister of Health Silvia Masebo's statement that "people should go back to the village " is a solution to the eradication of the cholera outbreak, questioning what Government has done in those same villages for people to go there and start a livelihood.
The leadership secretary General also expressed sadness over the statement by Minister of Lands Mr. Elijah Muchima who said UPND supporters will be considered first to be given land as a way of empowering them.
Mr Ngoma condemned this statement saying that Land rights are every Zambian birth rights that should be accessed by all without any favoritism or trouble in getting title deeds.
He equally lamented over the continued skyrocketing of mealie meal prices and yet nothing seems to be done by government in empowering local farmers so that they can produce more food crops for the Nation to be food secure this year.
Mr Ngoma revealed that a 25kg bag of Mealie meal is costing K410 in Lundazi and K380 at Mwami boarder of Eastern Province of Zambia; thus reminding government to find ways of reducing it because people are dying of hunger and marriages are breaking apart everyday due to hunger.
He further called on the immigration department to swing in action and provide assistance in the land wrangles surrounding Eastern Province where people are b
