The last two weeks, has been full of events and they’ve been great fun; incorporating two ‘new to us’ venues, another boogie bingo night, a fundraiser & busy floors, even to the dreaded Macarena🕺🏻

There’s few better Sundays to be had!

Its almost time for this annual event, which for me, is the very best way to kick off December & the festive season.

A great array of talented performers, lots of dancing & smiles everywhere.

We cannot do them all but we will always do some charitable work or as we call them, ‘good cause gigs’ and Sunday was for sure one of those.

It was a real honour to be asked and to take part in a charitable footy match on Sunday and yes we played but only one of us did so on the pitch, well done Donald 😉

I however done a pre-match set for a few hours, whilst the kids played, raffles sold, photos were being snapped and magic was in the air thanks to Phoenix Magic Aberdeen who just frys my mind with each card trick!

It was lovely to meet the talented Natalie Hood Photography, Rikki from Alba Bagpipes - Professional Scottish Entertainment and catch-up with our very own ⚽️ legend, Joe Harper, after a few years.

Congratulations to the Hendo family for organising this day for their brave, respected father Derek, on behalf of Friends of Anchor.

Well done to all who took part, attended and supported. 🫶

“Hi mate, we honestly can’t thank you enough for yesterday you just made our day, cheers pal” is the appreciated feedback from Saturdays wedding for our friends and entertainment colleagues Jackie & Craig, whom many will know as the excellent Firelight

I was able to enjoy a 360 degree look of the day by being guest, MC in part and DJ and it really was a cracker of a day that I genuinely enjoyed.

The tone was set early on, when I played a song recorded by Jackie herself, that truly showcased her vocal range and talent, as a surprise for Craig, mid ceremony.

The day was only further elevated, during the drinks reception by one of Aberdeens finest performers, who without asking and merely through music and banter, had folk dancing, myself included. Billy Main - Live Singer & Entertainer thank you and bravo 👏🏻

A memorable day of love, banter & laughter and I could praise much and many more such as the team, once again at The Aberdeen Altens Hotel

Ps. Big up my YMCA bros & JMAC team 🫶

Thank for having us along, much appreciated. Well done to Darrens band, Outclassed, for giving their first public performance 🥇 and it was great to have an evening amongst some old friends at Ryans shindig.

🎶 charity fun & fizz afternoon at Newburgh Village Hall.

Our first rodeo at doing Rock ‘n’ Roll Bingo which was fun; followed by some games and a few hours of dancing. All things considered we increased the hands on deck to 3 pairs so thanks to both Rhys and Rob 👍🏼

Forward 👀 to 2025!

There are so many bookings we couldn’t take this year, regrettably in one sense and fortunately in another, because we were already booked and although we try hard to please, we have struggled to sqeeze many in with our diary being quite populated.

Also, I have observed, for whatever reason, lots have left booking way late this year.

Next year is healthy with wedding bookings already and mindful that we must allow ourselves a bit more free time ’for family and life’ too, I encourage you to get in touch asap to get in our diary for next year, even if provisionally, should something be on the horizon.

Now, if that isn’t enough help, financially, early booking will benefit you as confirm before end of October this year and secure at current rates. Anything thereafter will be subject to 2025 rates.

💒 WHAT A WEDDING THIS WAS💒

Mr & Mrs Rutherford were married at The Aberdeen Altens Hotel whose team were just excellent as always.

We covered multiple elements of the day, as follows:

- Ceremony Music
- Wedding Breakfast
- MC Duties
- Wedding Dance

We used our compact battery system for the ceremony which ended with the recessional setting the tone for the day ahead - Highway to Hell 😀.

During the wedding breakfast we hyped, introduced speeches, provided background music, interacted, done a music quiz - made much more better by tables having to shout out their fun table names before answering “fannies, eejits” and the like echoing.

Then it was evening and WOW, what a buzz of a night, made all the better with fellow suppliers all doing their thing Candy Corner Scotland (excellent slushes btw), Phoenix Magic Aberdeen (top fella) 360 Photobooth Aberdeen & Set The Scene- NorthEast

Thanks to Dani Rose Photography for being ever supportive and doing another photobomb with us.

Hannah & Tyrinne, we had a fun journey from our initial meeting some moons ago,
you deserved the very best of days and left nothing out. Thank you for being the good guys you are and for trusting in us and thank you for a great review 🫶

This mad mintal crazy year continues as does me playing catch-up!

Congratulations to Cameron & Patrycja on their recent marriage and thanks for having us along to The Marcliffe at Pitfodels for your evening entertainment with your own twist of mario cart added in 🫶

3 weddings in 7 days, the first of which took us further than usual to the wonderfully scenic charm of Carrick Castle Estate for the perfect wedding of my good friends Paul & Yasmin aka Mr & Mrs Rathawongkit.

Words cannot describe how much of a joy it was to see them get hitched, the happiness and delight on everyone’s faces and how spoiled we all were throughout.

What were we up to on the 6th July?

Let me help.

Team JMAC were at the very nice Sandman-signature Aberdeen Hotel for the wedding of the our chums, Dylan & Natalie or as we can now say Mr & Mrs Collinson.

Todays wedding follows up on their engagement party of 19.02.22 which we were also delighted to be a part of.

A more genuine, down to earth, fun loving couple is hard to find and once again, we were joyed to be a part of another special time in your lives.

They and their guests made for an easy night as the dancing was plentiful.

Shout out to the Sandman and it’s team, what a good job they do and to Dani Rose Photography.

Courtesy of the new Mr & Mrs Smith, we got to play in another new ‘to us’ venue, the lovely The Knowes Hotel & Restaurant.

Our last big block ended with this wedding and it certainly did not disappoint. Fab couple, fab guests, fab staff and just a joy to play at.

Another newby for us, was having some Ceilidh to alternative music. Fresh concept, that worked well.

We wish Matty & Caitlin, the very best.

Lookback No 2:

Mr & Mrs Woods wedding at the Pittodrie House Hotel.

With family & friends from near and as far away as Mexico, birthplace of our beautiful bride Anahi.

A day & evening that catered for so many with myself on the decks for a touch of tartan which was made more poignant by the fact, so many visitors made the effort to wear some. DJ Pythat all the way from mexico adding some latin flair. The unreal spencer.sax from Lancashire and our very own musical icon Graham Geddes Music helping to call the dances and being a good friend and sport.

Michael & Anahi, thank you so very much and may your journey together, continue to be blessed 🫶

Work, little ones & general life, makes for little free time and yes, perhaps when I‘ve had that free time; I’ve allowed myself to chill too much but it’s time to catch-up on some of the fabulous weddings we’ve had and I had best do that this week, before we run the next 5 in a short period 😀
