An artist. A mascot. A piece of New Zealand history.

For decades, Dick Frizzell has captured the spirit of Aotearoa with his bold, witty approach to pop art. But one of his most enduring motifs is Charlie—the Four Square Man. A symbol of Kiwiana since the mid-20th century, Charlie has become something much bigger in Frizzell’s hands.

Now, in "Icons", Frizzell takes Charlie further, transforming him into 28 legendary figures from art, music, and history. It’s a perfect blend of nostalgia, pop culture, and the enduring appeal of bold, accessible art.

Each hand-signed, one-of-a-kind screen print is a celebration of Frizzell’s legacy and the ever-evolving nature of New Zealand’s visual culture.

Available from March 5.

Glorious is proud to announce Icons, our latest collaboration with one of Aotearoa’s most celebrated artists, Dick Frizzell

Frizzell has taken one of the most recognisable figures in New Zealand pop culture— Charlie, the Four Square Man—and reimagined him as 28 cultural icons. From music legends like Prince and Elton John to art-world titans like Andy Warhol and Yayoi Kusama, each transformation is a playful yet masterful celebration of pop art, history, and identity.

Each piece is a unique, hand-signed screen print, framed and editioned 1/1 ($950). Created using the same techniques as Warhol and Lichtenstein, Icons is a nod to the rebellious, democratic spirit of pop art—where commerce and creativity collide.

Available from March 5.

“Echoes of Terra Nova" — the first image in the "Colours of Antartica" collection from Stuart Robertson.

A tribute to the explorers who braved the unknown. This aerial photograph captures the surreal beauty of Antarctica's melt pools, where vivid colors are shaped by algae and sunlight.
