February 4th is World Cancer Awareness Day 🎗

Silver Ox is proud to support Pink Out for Hope, a local non profit in Cheatham County. Pink Out for Hope's purpose and mission is to raise funds for promising research to help prevent and cure breast cancer; to help save lives by increasing awareness through their events; and to give hope to patients in Cheatham County through financial support.

65% of breast cancer patients are fiscally unprepared for what treatments will cost. In fact, JCO Oncology Practice: An American Society of Clinical Oncology Journal 'Financial Costs and Burden Related to Decisions for Breast Cancer Surgery,' reports costs are higher than most cancer patients expected. In a time where the patient can't work and some will not have income, many times the choice between groceries, utilities or other necessities are weighed against cost of treatment.

Tennessee is ranked 5th highest state for FLU activity. The FLU is a major concern for kiddos. It can easily move from kid-to-kid as they share things like pencils, toys, computers, remotes, spoons and forks. Hand-to-Hand contact is another common method of transfer.

It can lead to sinus infections, ear infections, ashma flare-ups and even pneumonia. Hospitalization may be required for children under the age of 2.
