For sure, you have used this symbol at least once in your social media posts—the #. When the # symbol is followed by a word or a phrase, a hashtag is born. A hashtag can be powerful as it can emphasize the online discussion of social issues and advocacies, with the possibility to influence and to initiate social activities offline.
