The longest traffic jam in history lasted 12 days and stretched for 62 miles on China’s National Highway 110 in August 2010. Things got so bad that people stuck in traffic developed a mini-economy of overpriced food, water, and ci******es. What was the reason behind the chaos? Well, it was a combination of road construction, maintenance work, and increased freight traffic due to an increase in coal deliveries to Beijing. Additionally, unusually heavy rain caused some sections of the road to become impassable, exacerbating the traffic congestion. The traffic jam was so severe that some drivers reported only traveling 0.6 miles in a day.

How cool is that?! According to scientists from Stanford University the person who will live 200 years has already been born. Although it might sound crazy, it is expected that at some point there will be enough advancements in medical technology and genetics, that will likely help to further prolong the human lifespan way past the life expectancy we are familiar with today. Incredible!

It was nice to sniff you! There may be more to shaking hands than performing a polite gesture. This ancient custom looks like it may have come from the intention of knowing someone else’s odor. If you think about it, it’s the equivalent of two dogs sniffing each other when they meet. Studies show that people tend to sniff their hands frequently after shaking hands with someone else, but they sniff them subconsciously.

This paradox was brought about by Hilbert who explained there were two hoteliers who wanted to create the largest hotel in the world. They decided to build a hotel with an infinite amount of rooms. When it opened, everyone wanted to stay there. The infinite rooms had infinite guests so there wasn’t any more space for anyone else. To accommodate, guests were asked to add the number 1 to their room number and go to that new room. For example, the person in room 1 moved to room 2.
