Our weather pattern is likely to change to one that is much colder with the possibility (not yet probability) of snow the 2nd week of January.

Mild temperatures will continue across the U.S. for the rest of 2024. However, as we turn the calendar to 2025, there is a strong signal for below normal temperatures for the first couple weeks of January across most of the country. The Southwest and Alaska hold on to better chances for above normal temperatures.

I have seen many posts and have been asked about the possibility of wintery weather for the first of the year. Right now, the models are only showing cold temperatures without any precipitation. Things can change. I will monitor the models and give a forecast later when it gets closer. As for now, enjoy your Christmas with family and friends.

PS: I rarely give out any weather information until it's with 5-7 days because the weather is so ever changing.

The cold gusty air has made it's way through Georgia. Wind advisory for almost all of the Peach State until 7:00pm tonight. The cold front has made it's way to the southeast. Bundle up out there. We were warmer at 7:00 am this morning than now. Low's tonight will be in the 20's in the higher elevations and 30's all the way down to the GA/FL line. If you have pets outside bring them inside. Wind chills tonight could be in the lower 20's in some areas.
