i want to see long term productive plans!

we need to show up for the rest of our lives. not just today, not just because it’s trending, not just to save your image. i am taking notes!
Structural Racism and police violence doesn't just exist overseas... they're present in our backyard; in our Innenhöfe; in our WGs; in our hometowns; in our families.
If you can't be out protesting, or don't feel safe to do so, there's still more you can do than just venting your frustration on social media. To mark today's initiative, here are some ideas for real actions you can take.
Enrol to vote, wherever you are allowed to vote. Check to see if you can vote in your local elections (even if you're not a German citizen many can still vote in local elections if you're resident here).

This world is designed to be easier to navigate for some of us than others. You can be a force for change in your own communities. Don't just show up with a hashtag.
This Tuesday, 2nd of June (& obviously, this work should be done on a day to day basis) join us in taking a day of pause from work to reconnect with the community. Focus on your action. Reflect and share things that may have been missed. Join the conversation but please, please do not centre yourself within it. Listen and try to understand & learn. It’s okay to change your opinion after you learned something new, truss me.
Anti-racist values and inclusion need to be the core of our work.
I’m saying it again and again: we need diverse line-ups. Promoters need to do the research, it’s simply their job. Labels need to have a diverse roster. Industry professionals need to commit to diversity and support as much as possible. Clubs need to be way more inclusive. DJs need to release the fu***ng tracklists.
If you’re yt, amplify their voices and give Black, Brown and Indigenous people the direct plug - there is no such thing as gate keeping but there’s yt ego and yt ignorance, standing in our way.
Move beyond social media outrage and be useful at all times. Take a proactive stand against racism and speak out. And once you’re through, I urge you to put that same energy towards any other form of oppression.

I find it quite difficult to speak rn, but here‘s what needs to be said:
Racism happens/exists in triangular constellations; it takes:
► an aggressor
► a person becoming the target of racism
► a dominant public consensus that enables the practice of racism
So, here‘s the thing: dear white people, our silence generally equals consent, saying the performed action or situation is socially acceptable/ ok.
Our silence is powerful and so can be our words. If we decide to remain silent in these times, we are feeding a system of oppression and white supremacy.
Activism turned into a twofold thing. Nowadays’ activism happens online and offline, as there are spaces online, as well as offline that need to be occupied. Online activism can easily turn into performative action, which is nothing more than tiring. Still, today’s activism needs to be online AND offline and most of all - it needs to be honest. Therefore, I need us to fully understand what’s going on, what’s our situation here and how we got into what’s going on atm. Only if so, our actions can be fruitful.
