Welcome back Shoofly!! It's the spring semester! 🌸

We will be holding our first meeting of the year this coming Thursday, 1/28 at 11 a.m. Topics will include voting on the cover for the next edition of the magazine, scheduling possible Zoom readings for this semester, and getting ready for copy editors to handle our accepted submissions. If you signed up to be a copy editor or would like to be one, make sure to attend this meeting.

Congratulations to Ezra Creedon, who has been chosen for publication in Virginia Commonwealth University's "National Publication of the Best Undergraduate Writing." Ezra's poem, “from the unqualified critic,” was originally published in the 2020 issue of Shoofly Literary Magazine and will appear in VCU's 2021 Best Undergraduate Writing Anthology, plain china. This is the second year in a row a KU student who was originally published in Shoofly has been chosen for the anthology. In 2019, Professional Writing major Ella Luzzi was selected for her poem, "Bad Things."
