Ademola Lookman won the 2017 U20 World Cup with the England🇬🇧 but decided to switch allegiance to represent Nigeria🇳🇬 Senior Team.

The 26-year-old chose to represent Nigeria at the senior level through his parents and received approval from Fifa in February 2022, paving the way for his recent debut against Ghana in a World Cup qualifier.

"Both my parents are Nigerians, and I've always seen this [representing Nigeria] as a possibility. I came to Nigeria, frequently when I was much younger," Lookman told CafOnline.

"I am familiar with the people and have built up a family here, so the switch from England to Nigeria is not an unusual one for me. I am glad I made the switch."

Earlier, he sent Nigeria to the Quarter-finals with his brace against Cameroon and he won the Man of the Match awardđź‘Ź

Yesterday, he was at it again, making sure that Angola ended their dreaming run in the quarter finals and driving Nigeria through to the semi finals. He scored his third goal of the knock out stage.

More Blessings and Trophies With The Super Eagles Man🦅🇳🇬🙏

We all love youđź’•đź’ž

Dr. Papa Kwesi Nduom Writes...

TODAY is three years since our dream to develop a safe and sound regulated financial institution present everywhere in Ghana was deferred. Thousands of young men and women remain at home.
Hundreds of millions of assets have been lost, abandoned, destroyed or rotting away. 300 branches remain locked up.
The unbanked remain unbanked. Yet, our faith remains strong.

“I know the plans I have for you says the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29: 11.

"What didn't Bawumia say about the dollar? Lecture after lecture, you and section of the media projected this man as the answer and solution to all our economic problems little did many know that he was a braggadocious talkative, very empty on words and cheap rhetoric when it comes to concrete action relative to economic management, today where is he?"

“I realise that he’s saying the very things that will take him into opposition because he is sailing against the wind. Nana Addo is now sailing against the wind because everything he said yesterday was the opposite of what Ghanaians think, so if you have such a leader who is sailing against the wind then his days are numbered.”

*RESHUFFLE COMMENTS-IT’S EITHER THE PRESIDENT’S ALREADY POOR JUDGEMENT HAS BEEN FURTHER IMPAIRED WITH OLD AGE OR MARTIN KPEBU WAS RIGHT-ASEPA*

President Akufo-Addo’s response to the clarion calls for an urgent reshuffle in administration has left a lot of people especially members of his Party very disappointed.
Apart from the lack of respect for the ordinary Ghanaian who the President himself has tasked to be Citizens not spectators, this plain dismissal of such calls is testament that neither the President nor his advisors are able to properly assess the mood of the Country or are receiving correct briefings on same.

Then the President goes further to explicitly commend his Ministers who have largely performed like square legs in round holes amidst massive corruption scandals as being outstanding, either the President has lost serious touch with reality or his judgement has been seriously impaired with old age.

So are Ministers like Ken Ofori-Attah, who has mismanaged this economy, involved in several shady insider tradings and dragged the Country to the IMF just a few weeks ago part of the Ministers who have performed outstandingly well according to the President?
How about the Agric Minister AKOTO Afriyie?
Under whose tenure food Inflation has been over the roof, major staple crops have seen drastic shortage, buffer stock almost collapsed despite huge investments into a Planting for Food and Jobs Program?
What about Ursula Owusu?
A communications Minister who have demonstrated very little knowledge in the area of communications, dragged the whole Country into a needless sim re-registration, engulfed in heavy corruption over deals such as Kelni GVG and others, is she part of the outstanding Ministers?
What about Kwaku Agyemang Manu, the health Minister who has been at the center of a lot of the procurement corruptions in Ghana’s Covid-19 responses, is the President satisfied with his performance even though he is very much tainted in corruption?
What about Abu Jinapor, a Minister for Lands under whose watch we have seen massive disposal and sales of State lands including parts of Achimota forest, is the President truly satisfied with his performance?
What about Matthew Opoku-Prempeh, the Minister of energy who wants to use $35million of tax payers money to move a single power plant from Takoradi to Kumasi, is he part of the outstanding performers?

Folks it’s either the President’s already poor judgement has been further impaired with old age or Martin Kpebu was right, he is the head of the criminal syndicate in his Government who benefits directly from the incompetence and corrupt deals of his Ministers and therefore risks exposing himself if he takes any action against them.

Otherwise there’s absolutely no basis for this opioid defense, reshuffle has been long overdue, Ministers staying too long in certain offices breeds rustiness and contributes largely to the poor performance the people of Ghana has been served with in the last 6 years.

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken began a three-nation tour of Africa by visiting a museum in South Africa to commemorate how the country’s Black youths helped to end white racist rule.

His visit will also take him to the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and neighboring Rwanda. Blinken’s Africa trip is seen as a wider struggle between Russia and Western powers for support from African countries over the war in Ukraine.

His travel follows recent tours by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and French President Emmanuel Macron. South Africa is one of many African countries that have maintained a neutral stance on the war and have not publicly criticized Russia. So between the three major powers—France, Russia, and the US—which one has the interests of Africa at heart?

“YOUR EXCEPTIONAL LEADERSHIP IN WEST AFRICA APPRECIATED BY THE US” – US AMBASSADOR TO PREZ. AKUFO-ADDO

The United States’ Ambassador to the United Nations, Linda Thomas-Greenfield, has lauded Ghana’s President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, for his exemplary contribution to the peace and security in the West African Region, as well as Ghana’s role on the UN Security Council.

In a meeting with President Akufo-Addo at Jubilee House, on Saturday, 6th August 2022, the US Ambassador to the United Nations expressed the gratitude of the United States of America to President Akufo-Addo for his sterling efforts in peace building.

“I have come to express our gratitude to Ghana for your leadership here in the Region, but also for your leadership in the Security Council and the close collaboration that we have been able to forge with your permanent representative in the peace and security challenges that we face every day in the Security Council”

She also praised Ghana’s solid relationship with the United States over the years, stating that “Ghana has been a stalwart and steadfast partner to the United States, and we are very much appreciated the opportunity to work with you.”

She also expressed the support of the US to President Akufo-Addo in tackling security related issues in West Africa as Chairman of ECOWAS.

“We also want to express to you our strong support for your efforts in dealing with the situation here in the region as President of ECOWAS, the very tough, sometimes decisions that you have had to make to deal with situations in the region, particularly as it relates to Mali”

On the Russian invasion of Ukraine, Linda Thomas-Greenfield had this to say.

“Mr President, on Ukraine, as you know and you’ve heard, the President, as well as the Secretary of State and myself are deeply concerned by the growing crisis caused by the war in Ukraine. We believe it’s a war of choice that was made by (President) Putin, his disproportionate actions in terms of attacks on civilian infrastructure and this war has had a very significant impact on the continent of Africa, including Ghana,” she said

Touching on the food crisis on the continent in general and Ghana in particular, the US envoy said that “I had an opportunity to talk with farmers in Tamale today, and hear from them some of the challenges they’re facing in the agricultural sector. They are not able to access fertilizer and, of course, the high price of petrol has had a huge impact on them, and they are planting about 40% of what they planted in the past. We have responded to this crisis throughout the continent of Africa. We have had to continue to work with you to address the rising food insecurity challenge”

She also dismissed the narrative being pushed by Russia that the food crisis across the world is as a result of sanctions the US has placed on the European giant.

“I would like to state, Mr. President, that the narrative that the Russians have used in dealing with the situation and suggests that sanctions the US has on Russia is the cause of food insecurity crisis and that could be far from the truth. We have no sanctions on Russian agricultural products, no sanctions on fertilizers, no sanctions on their wheat, and we have indicated that we are prepared to work with them and we support the Secretary General’s efforts to finding a way to get Ukrainian wheat and Ukrainian fertilizer and Russia fertilizer to the market initiative, that’s the Secretary General-led”

She also expressed concerns about the security situations in Mali and the refusal by authorities in the country not to adhere to initiatives aimed at bringing lasting peace into the country.

Linda Thomas-Greenfield said that the US welcomes any advice President Akufo-Addo might give them in order to deal decisively with the Malian crisis.
