It's another 4 hours of Bottom of the Pops on Dandelion Radio.
A real treat to start the show for you this month from Ten Benson. Easily one of my favourite bands of all time. They rock, they've got humour in spades, a social conscience and they never have the desire to shout about themselves. They are nigh on the perfect band. Listen to the lyrics of this release, their first for aeons, which suddenly appeared mid riot season. I wonder who they could be talking about.
Also another great new Jamie XX tune, this time in partnership with the Avalanches - bliss. New releases from Silas J Dirge, The Citric Dummies, The Fcukers, London's Tokyo Riddim Band, Japan's Do Do Do's, Sydney's Party Dozen and the list goes on.
In July Metal Postcard records released its 500th release, the ever productive Neon Kittens, who else? An excuse for me delve into a small part of the back catalogue. Here's to the next 500.
Also Gil Scott-Heron, Chris & Cosey, The Chills (RIP) and Captain Beefheart.

Sort of a big deal here at Metal Postcard HQ because this is MP500 - yes 500 releases since 2001 (i think it was 2001) They told me starting my own indie label was insane and yes it has bankrupted me once , dealing with the music industry in certain stages of its existence has been at times completely soul destroying but what has been great except for a couple of di*****ds have been the artists on the label - beyond amazing people who have always been patient and kind with my amateur approach to this thing called a record label . I thank them all from the bottom of my heart. And i'm very happy that Neon Kittens sit at MP500. They've engendered a certain degree of love around the planet and that's really all you can ask for - here's to the next 500

Okay, I'm going to be honest. When I first listened through Neon Kittens' "It's a No Thing," I thought I was listening to an album created by artificial intelligence. I really did. It's like someone entered "early Devo," "female vocals," "spoken word" and "twisted lyrics" into the AI engine and this album popped out.
