SCATHING/PARASITE NURSE SPLIT

Sometimes you buy a tape not knowing at all what to expect on it. You press play and don't know what's gonna come out. Lucky for you this isn't one of those tapes. Scathing is harsh fu***ng noise. Period. Parasite Nurse is harsh fu***ng cut up. Period. Texas' number one harsh ripper. The new queen of American cut up. Both on one tape. Its 30 minutes of killer fu***ng noise. You want your s**t loud? You want s**t cutting left and right like crazy? You want crumbling bass? Rattling metal? Unsettling breaks? Then buy the fu***ng tape. I shouldn't have to tell you twice.

MP5

You just got off the bus. It looks hell today but maybe it always looks like that. 2 men stinking of diesel and old leather ask you where you're going. They tell you there's a tornado coming. They don't offer you shelter. Before you can ask their names the wind picks up. The first piece of sheet metal comes flying down the road next to you. And then it all starts coming apart. That is what happens when you listen to MP5. A short-lived collaboration between Dayton, OH legends Being and Developer, this disc collects both tapes by the pair in a single remastered edition. 30 minutes of true midwest hail-of-gunfire blaze-of-glory high-caliber harsh noise so merciless you'd swear their names were Heckler and Koch. No fu***ng bulls**t, the true Ohio way. Zip code? You're in Dayton mother fu**er!

Edition of 100 digipacks

Digital Negative

"Formed during the 2020 quarantine, DIGITAL NEGATIVE is the new project from Richard Johnson (Drugs Of Faith, Agoraphobic Nosebleed, ex-Enemy Soil) and Daniel Euphrat (Person918x, Timmy Sells His Soul). Their Digital Negative EP features five glitched-out experiments in frigid tension, explosive outcomes, and cerebral terror. The record was produced remotely in Virginia, with Johnson recording his vocals and handing them over to Euphrat who mixed and manipulated them into his collage of samples, electronic percussion, and guitar."

Digital Negative will see release via Hostile 1 Tapes on May 21st, digitally and on cassette limited to 100 hand-numbered copies.

Siege Electronics – Avatars of Total Order

There is something reassuring about tradition. Innovation for innovation’s sake is overrated, and role players win championships. On Avatars of Total Order, the UK’s Siege Electronics offers up an appeal to the traditional brick-walled skull-busting power electronics of Genocide Organ and The Grey Wolves. Samples and synths are blown out and looped endlessly. The volume is relentless, almost oppressive. Drenched vocals drag through hypnotic static charges that keep your attention without overstaying their welcome. This tape is the final release from Siege Electronics, a perfect monument to the project, and the foundations it was built on.

Lovesick – Nurturing a Death Wish

You’re in bed at 3am, awake. Your head is swimming. The pills stopped working weeks ago. All you can taste is vomit and gun powder. You’re paralyzed with humiliation. You reach out into the darkness for anything. You find it, grip it tight. The voice you hear in your head telling you to pull it, that’s Lovesick. Nurturing a Death Wish brings an unprecedented intensity to music about hating yourself. Shredding harsh tone cascades through blended electronic nightmares. Coughed and rasping vocals sit front and center to deliver you pound after pound of blistering self-loathing. There is a cohesive maturity to the composition and delivery of each song that is hard to find even in veterans of the genre. The artist has requested that no streaming be available. This is not meant to be heard in passing, but played obsessively, alone. Unwanted, unseen, unworthy, unsalvageable, unable. Deep throat that Barretta, it’s the only thing that will ever love you.

New Class of Necrophile

Necrophilia is one of the least-studied sexual fetishes. Necrophiliacs start young, and often structure their entire lives around easy access to dead bodies. Because of this, they can be extremely hard to identify. There is no data on how common necrophilia is. New Class of Necrophile wants to give you a window into their mindset with this debut EP carved straight from a morgue freezer. Cold electronics support grinding loops as vocals gasp confessions through cadaverine fl**ge so thick you’d swear it was on Slaughter Productions. A no-frills quick cut of pure death industrial perversion. The soundtrack to co**se fu***ng. The artwork is too extreme for digital release and will only be available with physical purchases. Comes with an additional insert, housed in a black velvet bag. Please consult local laws before ordering from outside the US.

Scathing – Untitled

Why is everything so fu***ng harsh in Texas? With the s**t that comes out of there sometimes I’m shocked there’s enough distortion pedals and scrap metal to go around. Lucky for us Scathing’s Kenny Brieger is from Texas. And man is this tape f**kin harsh. At its peaks, the volume and textural aggression Scathing delivers can be absolutely suffocating. But it never rests on a single angle too long and maintains a lot of dynamics and movement that you might not expect from a searing c30 like this. The sounds have familiar ingredients from the greats of American harsh noise but come together in a brew entirely of Scathing’s making. Absolutely one of the most consistent rippers smashing pedals today.

Hand numbered edition of 50

Oozing Meat – Unseen Phantoms in Open Spaces

Oozing Meat is f**ked. If you’re unaware, Oozing Meat is 2 of Richmond, Virginia’s finest coming together to be as f**ked as possible. Jason Hodges of Suppression and Eric Tomillon of Fake Object bring you 530 tracks in 12 minutes. I didn’t count but I believe them. First is 115 tracks with acoustic drums, and its followed up by 415 tracks with drum machine. The acoustic drums are f**ked. Despite needing to do 3 songs per second it doesn’t feel rushed, and really takes its time. Its unsettlingly patient for breakneck noisecore. The drum machine is 100% full bongo. Deche Charge goes speedcore. Absolutely relentless. The tape has 4 blank minutes on each side so you can sit alone in your room listening to the dead tape thinking about how f**ked that was like its 1994. Get it together s**thead.

Developer – Stand in My Shadow Forever

For the last 4 years Matthew Reis has been keeping his noise to the confines of his incredible noisecore band Living Room (H1006). But you can only separate a man and his mute buttons for so long. Its hard to begin describing the music on this CD. Its everything. Every single sound there ever was stuffed into a school bus and thrown down a mountain. But its not some repetitive 20 distortion pedal endurance test like some longer form cut up albums can be. There are passages reminiscent of Matthew’s earlier concrete work as Teeth Collection that fill the space between canyons of demolishing cut up. Every song has its own set of distinct sounds and unique flow, and would work effortlessly as a side of a split. And yet when you listen to the entire thing there is no mistaking that you’re hearing a full album. This is a high-water mark not only for Matthew’s individual catalog but for the style of cut up harsh noise as a whole. 10 untitled tracks over 50 minutes that leaves you with an itch to hit play on track 1 again as soon as its finished. A feeling like maybe you can figure out what the f**k that was, or how he did that. But you can’t. And you never will. All you can do is play this disc until you go deaf, and stand in its shadow forever.

H1008

The Vomit Arsonist - Sometimes It's Easier to Kill Somebody Else

The Vomit Arsonist has been a mainstay of New England’s dominant PE scene for well over a decade. He continues to cement his legacy with his latest tape Sometimes It’s Easier to Kill Somebody Else. This is a seriously dark release. Haunting layered textures and cavernous pulses form the bedrock of this exceptionally patient and precise industrial death march. Monstrous vocals cut through the mounting murk and fill each track with obsession and violence. A threatening album from a place that doesn’t care if you come up dead. Sometimes it’s easier to kill somebody else.

H1009

Gordie Howe - Old Time Hockey

In 1997 a 65-year-old Gordie Howe played a single shift of a minor league hockey game in Detroit. In the parking lot after the game, a fan gave Gordie a copy of the Apartment 213/Benumb split. That record changed his life. He needed to make music that ignorant about the sport he loved. Enlisting the help of hall of fame players Bobby Hull, Guy Lafleur, and Patrick Roy, that foursome would record on and off from then until Gordie’s death in 2016. Old Time Hockey represents the first of those recordings to be completed by the remaining members and Gordie’s family. Layers of rough bass flood Roy’s signature machinegun blasts to create a swirling noisecore wall that has been described as “insane” and “disorienting”. Howe, Hull, and Lafleur provide a 3-layer vocal barrage that would guarantee 2 minutes for unsportsmanlike conduct. 15 tracks in under 15 minutes, this is noisecore for 4th liners. Blast beats for dropped gloves. I'm a f**kin idiot.

Each for $7 or both for $12

OUT NOW!

May 2020 batch from Hostile 1 Tapes

H1006

Captain Three Leg/Living Room

Two very different styles of noisecore collide on this split.

Captain Three Leg continues to reign as the kings of old man grind. 35 tracks overflowing with dumb samples, blasting riffs, and a 3-headed vocal delivery barking all the frustrations of being middle aged down your throat. Get off my goddamn lawn core.
Living Room offers the perfect counterpoint to C3L. Noisecore that’s heavy on the noise light on the core. Matt Reis’ break-neck cut up work as Developer shines through over their 30 tracks, effortlessly blending blown out blasts with screeching harsh noise. One of the most unique approaches to noisecore I’ve heard in a long time.

Not a split to be missed. Cover art by Zoe Burke

H1005

Like Weeds is the matured and focused moniker of Facialmess’ Kenny Sanderson. Trading in the endless barrage of Facialmess’ cut-up for a more considered and pulsating monster, Like Weeds sees Sanderson using his legendary skill for harsh tone to craft pieces that convey a clear message sonically.

On June 18th, 1984, police sent 6000 officers to break a picket line at a British Steel Corporation coking plant in Orgreave, South Yorkshire. The ensuing police riot left 100s of strikers injured or in jail. This tape is a fist-clenched trudge through that horrific day and the years of delayed justice that followed. Massive bass blasts blend with samples and harsh noise like only Sanderson can provide. Real union man electronics. Rather be a picket than a scab.
