KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS:

Assist Head/Divisional manager to maintain and expand on project work from the mining/ metallurgical industry and related research agencies, in line with Division’s current business plans, by providing competence and professional expertise, and interacting with clients, collaborators and potential partners.
Ascertain needs of clients and the industry and propose appropriate project work, both research and commercial oriented.
Execute projects so as to meet the time scheduling agreed to with client/stakeholder, contain costs for the Division and deliver valid conclusions with technical efficiency and professionalism.
Lead and execute projects in which interactions with technical expertise and stakeholders are required at an advanced level.
Comply with the internal administration requirements of Mintek and MNL with respect to labour and machine time capture, business governance (in SAP), professional reporting, project planning and management.
Develop protocols for optimal operation and performance of specialised imaging equipment
Ensure that QES procedures are followed and project work is executed to produce valid conclusions and with maximum overall efficiency - technically and financially.
Ensure that the documentation of work and procedures is appropriately captured and produce advanced professional level reports, publications, conference contributions

JOB KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:

5 years or more experience in the field of data and image (2D/3D) analysis applications using commercial/open source platforms (e.g. Matlab, Image J, Python, VG StudioMax, Aviso, etc.)
Coding and/or modelling experience, preferably with mineralogical/metallurgical/chemical data
Project management Skills
Drafting proposals that meet stakeholder objectives
Client relationship management
The incumbent must be highly organised, able to multi-task and pay attention to detail, with excellent verbal and written communication skill.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Master’s degree in Project Management OR Post-bachelor’s certificate or a
Certified Associate in Project Management
Experience & Qualification
Minimum of 5 years working experience
Skills Required
Practical knowledge of project management methodologies, tools and techniques
Technical Competencies- Knowledge and understanding of the following:
Physical IT infrastructure
Client / Server applications architecture
Internet technologies
Antivirus and firewall knowledge
Working knowledge of remote support tools

Excellent report writing skills
Duties
Implement project software and ensure information is regularly updated and accurate for all projects.
Identify and evaluate risk, issues and change requests to software/hardware.
Produce formal monthly & quarterly portfolio reports and present to various stakeholders
Facilitate the prioritization of projects within the business with available resources and timelines;
Responsible for planning, directing and coordinating the activities of technology projects to ensure that all the objectives are accomplished.
Participate in relevant internal and external working groups/projects, services and initiatives to provide information, advice and support on best practices.
Monitor project deliverables
Coach and support project team members with tasks you assign them
Update relevant stakeholders or team members on the project progress
