Steve Kerr had to be committing psychological warfare against the Celtics, with Jaylen Brown being left off Team USA and Jayson Tatum getting DNPs.

It’s the perfect way to plant the seeds of discontent within Boston’s locker room.

Imagine being Brown, fresh off a Finals MVP, only to be snubbed from the national team (twice). Then there's Tatum, coming off a championship run, but reduced to a spectator at the Olympics.

If anyone's savvy enough to do this intentionally, it’s Kerr. He’s been around forever and has seen the NBA from every angle, as a player, executive and coach.

It also wouldn’t be the first time someone used their position on Team USA for their own personal gain.

A perfect example is the story from the 2012 Olympics about LeBron and other Team USA stars getting in James Harden's ear about deserving his own team, in order to break up OKC's Big 3 of Durant/Westbrook/Harden.

Even if Steve Kerr wasn't intentionally playing mind games, his moves could have the same negative impact on Boston.

In the worst-case scenario for the Celtics, Tatum or Brown might finally want to be the No. 1 guy on their own team to ensure they're never disrespected like this again.
