Welcome to Wealth Matters for Financial Dominion Podcast, your home for free personal financial literacy, entrepreneurship, and wealth building inspiration on the go! Each week, our host brings you interviews with experts or millionaires as they share how they crushed debt, built a successful business, and continue to build wealth. This podcast was birthed during the COVID-19 out of a prompting an

d sense of urgency that wealth matters to the faith community like never before. Not in a cheesy way; but in the sense that if we want to give genrously and share good news, we will need finances to do so like never before. We can’t just walk up to someone and say, “God is good,” when they’ve lost a loved one to COVID-19 on top of losing their job and not having the money to bury their loved one. We need to be able to pour resources into that kind of situation. But to do that, we need to change our mindsets, get out of debt, and start building wealth. This is what Wealth Matters for Financial Dominion Podcast seeks to help you do. Again, be sure to subscribe at http://www.anchor.fm/wealthmatterspodcast. Thanks! Some of our guests have included:

Your Net Worth: Pull Back the Curtain and Know Where You Stand: Debt can feel like quicksand, but to stop your descent, pull your head out of the sand and pull back the curtain on your net worth. Few things are more sobering than looking at what you own (your assets) versus what you owe (your debts). Like a mid-life crisis, sometimes seeing those two categories of your life on paper can lead to a mental “net-worth crisis.” Ideally, your net worth should increase as you age, pay off debts, and grow your investments. But take heart. Knowing where you stand will either be a reality check or confirm that you are on the right track. (Read more at http://ow.ly/rkG750BLm1c)

Everyone Needs a Budget: Apps, Tools, and Approaches to Make Yours Work: In a previous post, we listed the essential elements of a personal financial plan, and one of them is, of course, a realistic budget you can track or “work” every month. Some people hear the word budget and immediately feel as if they are wearing a tie that is too tight or a turtleneck that is choking them. For others, who are more like numbers nerds, a budget is a thing of pleasure. No matter your bent, you need a budget. And couples with contrasting “money languages” should see their budget as a tool to bring them together, or as I call it, “a spreadsheet of understanding.” (Read More at http://ow.ly/mc4E50BLlPt)

Let me tell you a little history about how my goals have tranformed. I worked in Corporate America for years and always put money in to my 401k, but I can’t say I understood its inner workings or even had a specific goal for my 401k savings. When I left Corporate America in 2014, I stopped adding funds to my 401k; instead, I borrowed from them and lived off my savings for a while. Now that I’m older and realize I don’t have as much time between me and the age of retirement, I view my 401k quite differently.

I now have informed goals for my retirement savings and the changes I’m making in my financial behaviors. My motivations are strong. Apart from wanting to be able to give more, I also want to leave a financial leagacy for my children. But one of the things that almost looms over me when it comes to my goals is my father. http://personalfinance.purposehouse.net/whats-in-your-wallet-does-it-include-a-financial-plan/

What's in your wallet? Does it include a financial plan? There are essentially seven to eight elements of a personal financial plan. Each element should have detail and strategy.

1. Write down your financial goals. What's your why for your goal(s)?
2. Determine a realistic budget. Work it every month.
3. Establish your net worth. Know where you stand.
4. Create an emergency fund. You need a buffer for unexpected expenses.
5. Eliminate debt (except your mortgage). Use what you used to pay for debts to save and invest.
6.Utilize tax breaks to start investing. Continue to save.
7. Pay off your home.
8. Build wealth and give generously.

Do you have a written personal financial plan?
