Rose of Sharon in the Bible

“I am the rose of Sharon, the lily of the valley. Like the lily among the thorns, so is my beloved among the maidens. ” Song of Solomon 2:1-2 of the Bible. This is the rose is one of the flowers with more presence in the Bible.

The survival of Rosa of Sharon

According to the story, Sharon is the fertile plain, which due to the evolution of the sand dunes went from being a farmland and grazing land to being an arid and dry desert. Hence the strong meaning of the Rose of Sharon and the Lily of the Valley in the Bible , where they are the reflection of surviving adversities

In a hostile land, devoid of fertility, two beautiful flowers grow smoothly, preserving their aroma and beauty. Fighting against the lack of water and the burning sun, it tries to wilt.

On the other hand, the Rose of Sharon grows in Israel and is interpreted in the Bible as the figure of Jesus Christ , who grew and survived surrounded by thorns, like a rose, maintaining its beauty and essence.

The message that wants to be launched with the presence of the Rose of Sharon in the Bible, is to be able to overcome and survive the adversities of life. Where problems or inconveniences should only be the thorns of a rose, emerge between them and resurrect with a beauty and unmistakable force in the midst of a sea of ​​problems similar to an immense desert.

Do not let the day to wilt us, be strong as the Rose of Sharon and the Lily of the Valley.

Never thought about this before:

I have always thought that Noah was safe inside the Ark because he built it according to God's specifications. I thought that perhaps it was the strength of the gopher wood and the soundness of the architecture that ensured that the waters of the flood would not come into the Ark.

But today I encountered a verse that shifted this whole paradigm.
Let's read what Gen 7:16 says .." The animals going in were male and female of every living thing as God had commanded Noah..
THEN GOD SHUT HIM IN....

Don't miss this.... even after Noah had built the Ark, it was God Himself who shut him in, in order to shut out the waters of the flood... In other translations this verse says "The Lord sealed them inside."

May the Almighty God seal us inside His Ark of protection through this last 7 months of 2021.

It is not the fact that you have locked your house that keeps you safe at night, it is not your good driving skills that keeps you safe on the road, neither it's your healthy eating habits that keeps you healthy - only God can shut you in and shut out the devil that is seeking to devour you.

Father we pray that in this last 7 months of 2021 as we walk into the streets and as we drive on the roads, Oh God shut us in. Father we pray for our children that in the midst of dangers and molesters... You will shut them in, keep out the flood waters of abuse, r**e, murder, accidents, diseases and untimely death... Oh God shut us in, shut us in your Ark of protection , into your Ark of compassion..

May GOD SHUT US IN AS WE OBEY HIM AND TRUST IN HIS WORD. Amen!!

A little history lesson on what kindness can do!!!

A Jewish family Karnofsky, who immigrated from Lithuania to the United States, took pity on the 7-year-old boy and brought him to their home.
There he stayed and spent the night in this Jewish family home, where for the first time in his life he was treated with kindness and tenderness.
When he went to bed, Mrs Karnovski sang him Russian lullabies, which he sang with her.
Later he learned to sing and play several Russian and Jewish songs.
Over time, this boy became the adopted son of this family.
Mr. Karnofsky gave him money to buy his first musical instrument, as was the custom in Jewish families.
Later, when he became a professional musician and composer, he used these Jewish melodies in compositions such as St. James's Hospital and Go Down Moses.
The little boy grew up and wrote a book about this Jewish family, who adopted him in 1907. And proudly spoke Yiddish fluently.
In memory of this family and until the end of his life, he wore the Star of David and said that in this family he learned "to live a real life and determination."
This little boy's name was Louis Armstrong.
