Sheikh Ibn Baz (رحمه الله) said:

"Without a doubt, the commission of sins is one of the causes of the wrath of Allah (the Great and Mighty), the loss of grace (baraka), the detention of rain and the attack of enemies. As Allah Almighty said:

"We have afflicted the Pharaoh's family with arid years and poor harvest, so that they would remember" (al-A'raf 7: 130).

The Most High also said: "We have seized every man for his sin. On some of them, We sent a hurricane with stones, some of them were struck by a monstrous scream, some of them were swallowed up by Our command, and some of them We sank. Allah was not unjust to them - they themselves behaved unfairly towards themselves "

(al-Anqabut 29:40).

There are many ayahs with a similar meaning. And it is reliably transmitted from the prophet (ﷺ) that he said:

"Verily, a man loses his portion for the sin that he commits"

(Ibn Majah 90). "

MATTERS OF WAR

The revenge of Allah is most beautiful. It comes from where His enemies cannot possibly imagine. And, they are punished further with ever present fear in anticipation of the next act of revenge. Allah says:

And they thought that their fortresses would protect them from Allah ; but [the decree of] Allah came upon them from where they had not expected, and He cast terror into their hearts. 59:2

After the act of revenge has reached them, they speak words of bravery, unity and strength, but it is nothing more than fear and defiance. They are liars.

They only invent falsehood who do not believe in the verses of Allah , and it is those who are the liars. 16:105

Muadh bin Jabal narrates: We were with the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) returning from Tabook. He told me, “If you want I can tell you the head of the matter, its pillar and its peak,” I said yes O Messenger of Allah. In Hadīth Muslim, the Prophet Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم said:

Whoever points a metal to his brother, the angels will curse him until he puts it down even if it is his mother and father, some said even joking. A piece of metal, not a gun, not a sharp metal, he did not say a knife. And I say: may Allāh curse those who the angels curse, why can I not curse one the angels curse?

Say: "Nothing shall happen to us except what Allah has ordained for us. HE IS OUR MAULA (Lord, Helper & Protector)."

Surah Adh-Dhariyat 51:17,

They used to sleep but little by night [invoking their Lord (Allah) and praying, with fear and hope].

30/11/2019
30/11/2019

They used to sleep but little at night.

The scholars of Tafsir have two opinions about this:
The First Opinion

The first is that, they used to spend a little part of every night awake.

Ibn Abbas said,

"Every night, they would worship Allah, even during a little part of the night."

Qatadah narrated that Mutarrif bin Abdullah said,

"Hardly a night would pass by them that they did not pray to Allah the Exalted and Most Honored, either in the beginning, or the middle of it."

Mujahid said,

"Only a few nights, if any, would they sleep through the night until the morning without praying Tahajjud."

Qatadah said similarly.

Anas bin Malik and Abu Al-Aliyah said,

"They used to pray between Al-Maghrib and Al-Isha'."

The Second Opinion

They used to spend a little part of the night in sleep. This was preferred by Ibn Jarir.

Al-Hasan Al-Basri said:

(They used to sleep but little by night),

"They performed voluntary night prayer and would not sleep during the night except a little. They were active and would continue until they were seeking forgiveness right before dawn."

Abdullah bin Salam said,

"When the Messenger of Allah arrived at Al-Madinah, people quickly gathered around him and I was among them. When I saw his face, I knew that it was not the face of a liar. The first statement I heard from him was,

O people!

Feed with food,

keep relations to kith and kin,

spread the Salam,

pray at night while people are asleep,

and you will enter Paradise in peace."

Imam Ahmad recorded that Abdullah bin Umar said that the Messenger of Allah said,

Verily, there are lofty rooms in Paradise in which their outside can be seen from inside and their inside from the outside.

Abu Musa Al-Ashari said, "Who are they for, O Allah's Messenger" He said,

For those

who use soft speech,

feed food and

spend the night in voluntary prayer while people are asleep.

Allah Says:

{…And whosoever puts his trust in Allâh, then He will suffice him….}

[65:3]

Ibn Al Qayyim rahimahullah said: This means that Allah suffices such a person. When Allah suffices someone, then He protects him. This means that no enemy could harm that person except with an unavoidable harm like the cold/hot weather, the thirst…etc. But that the enemy should have a plan to harm him and have that plan executed, this will never happen. This is indeed a great reward. If the person trusts in Allah as best trust can be then Allah will give him way even if the sky falls on earth, Allah will suffice that person, nourish him and give him triumph.

"How did the Sahabah study the Qur'an? If we take the example of Abdullah ibn Umar (رضي الله عنه), he says: ‘It took me 14 years to finish memorizing Surah Baqarah.’ He (رضي الله عنه) was so happy after memorizing it, he said ‘and then I slaughtered a camel and I invited all the people to come.’ It was such an important event for him that he made a day of celebration of behalf of it. We can memorize Qur'an now within a year-how come it took Abdullah ibn Umar 14 years? The reason is, as narrated by one of the Tabi'een, who said, ‘I met with some of the Sahabah of the Rasul (ﷺ) and they told me that the way they would study Qur'an is that they would take ten verses and they would study these ten verses, they would study the Eman, the ilm, and the halal and haram in the verses, then memorize the verses and then move onto the next ten verses. They would never move onto the next ten verses until they applied it. Not until it became alive and a second nature to them. I was told this by many of the Sahabah, not just one.’"

Narrated Anas bin Malik

While we were sitting with the Prophet (ﷺ) in the mosque, a man came riding on a camel. He made his camel kneel down in the mosque, tied its foreleg and then said: "Who amongst you is Muhammad?" At that time the Prophet (ﷺ) was sitting amongst us (his companions) leaning on his arm. We replied, "This white man reclining on his arm." The man then addressed him, "O Son of Abdul Muttalib." The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "I am here to answer your questions." The man said to the Prophet, "I want to ask you something and will be hard in questioning. So do not get angry." The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Ask whatever you want." The man said, "I ask you by your Lord, and the Lord of those who were before you, has Allah sent you as an Apostle to all the mankind?" The Prophet (ﷺ) replied, "By Allah, yes." The man further said, "I ask you by Allah. Has Allah ordered you to offer five prayers in a day and night (24 hours).? He replied, "By Allah, Yes." The man further said, "I ask you by Allah! Has Allah ordered you to observe fasts during this month of the year (i.e. Ramadan)?" He replied, "By Allah, Yes." The man further said, "I ask you by Allah. Has Allah ordered you to take Zakat (obligatory charity) from our rich people and distribute it amongst our poor people?" The Prophet (ﷺ) replied, "By Allah, yes." Thereupon that man said, "I have believed in all that with which you have been sent, and I have been sent by my people as a messenger, and I am Dimam bin Thalaba from the brothers of Bani Sa`d bin Bakr."

Surah Al-Qari'ah 101:1 - 11,

The Striking Calamity -

What is the Striking Calamity?

And what can make you know what is the Striking Calamity?

It is the Day when people will be like moths, dispersed,

And the mountains will be like wool, fluffed up.

Then as for one whose scales are heavy [with good deeds],

He will be in a pleasant life.

But as for one whose scales are light,

His refuge will be an abyss.

And what can make you know what that is?

It is a Fire, intensely hot.
