Please Don't Sit On My Bed In Your Outside Clothes by Phoebe Robinson
Excited to share a message from one of our faves, Phoebe Robinson, about her new essay collection PLEASE DON'T SIT ON MY BED IN YOUR OUTSIDE CLOTHES—out from our sister imprint Tiny Rep Books this September!
From Phoebe: What’s my newest book “Please Don't Sit on My Bed in Your Outside Clothes” about, you ask?! As the first release on my imprint Tiny Rep Books, it’s a trifling (yet smart!) set of essays that cover quarantine with British Baekoff, my hair, traveling as a black woman, and much much MUCH more! It’s released on September 28 (my birthday!), but available for preorder NOW at the link in my bio! 💜
PS — if preorder now, you can join a happy hour with moi when you go to bit.ly/PhoebePreorder!

Aaaah! After launching @tinyrepbooks imprint this past summer, I was excited, but also like, “Derp.NewYorkPublicLibrary.DeweyDecimalSystem.org. This is not a game. There’s a lot on the line here.” So I got to work and hired @bamtastic07 aka Amber Oliver, who is just a phenomenal brown girl editor and a really kind person. Immediately, with the support of @plume_books, Amber and I read tons of submissions and fell in love with two of them off the bat and thankfully, the feeling was myootch aka mutual and we acquired these two upcoming projects, which are to be released in 2022:
⠀
•”Rage: The Evolution of a Black Queer Body in America” by @lefabrat I was bowled over by Lester’s voice, intelligent, and wit and just knew I had to have him and this book on my roster. I am so happy to work with him. His writing and this essay collection will knock you out! Stay tuned.
⠀
•”What the Fireflies Knew” by @authorkaiharris. Y’all from the first sentence, I was hooked. A coming of age narrative with black girl lead protagonist? Yes, please! A singular writing style and story that resonates and makes me feel all the feels? Sign me up! I’m happy to be on this journey with Kai and I cannot wait for y’all to read this book.
⠀
For more updates, follow @tinyrepbooks and show some love to these incredible authors. Will be posting a Q&A with Amber later this wk on the TRB instapage! #TinyRepBooks
