starting your journey as a content creator can be scary as sh*t, especially when you’re trying to monetize off your content right away. trust me.. been there & done that!!
but it promise you, it’s gonna be okay :)
don’t let it (or other creators) intimidate you!! there’s room for everyone, and we’re all unique in our own special way ✨
if i was just starting out as a ugc content creator, these are the three things i would focus on first 👇🏾
✨recording everything✨
-even if you don’t think it’s important still record anytime you do something because you can use that b-roll footage for SO MANY THINGS (your personal brand, content for your socials, deliverables for a client.. literally everything)
✨stop caring what other people think✨
-ive said it a million times before and will say it again… post the content and stop caring what other ppl think. you literally gotta think- is their opinion worth not making any money over?.. HELL NO.
✨do your research✨
-people think creating content is alot easier than it really is.. especially when you’re getting into creating ugc for brands!! so do as much research as you can for free so that way you save yourself so much time in the long run!!

engaging content is a guaranteed way to get the attention of your audience and always a great way to attract brands to your page!!
because of short form content i think hella ppl have developed adhd symptoms so they’re falling victim to the quick scroll.. which means if you’re not grabbing their attention within the first 3 seconds of your video (lowkey it’s 2) then they’re likely to keep scrolling..
what does this mean for you? … it means you need to work on making content ✨ that’s more engaging ✨
how? well, there a few different ways to do this:
👉🏽 quicker clips
-try keeping your clips shorter than 1.3 seconds (i usually aim for .7-.9)
👉🏽 aesthetic + high quality shots
- this is easier than most ppl think (anddd you don’t need the newest iphone or a &1,000 camera to do it either) just make sure you wipe off your lense, find GOOD NATURAL LIGHTING, adjust your exposure a bit, and play around with your angles!!
👉🏽 a good hook
- hooks are a BOMB way to captivate your audiences attention because it’s how you can make the post relatable. so even if you’re lacking A1 editing or don’t have the most aesthetically pleasing video you can always fall back on you’re hook keeping them around a little longer!

have you ever heard of UGC? it stands for user generated content and it’s how you’re gonna become a full time content creator by the end of 2024.
there’s still about two weeks left in 2023 so that’s plenty of time to get you well on your way. here’s what you’re gonna do 👇🏾
1️⃣ you’re gonna take one hour out of your day every day for the rest of the year to study UGC. Make a separate IG page for your UGC content and instead of posting on it right away. I want you to FIND CONTENT CREATORS that you love and STALK THEM!!! Stalk their pages and learn everything you can.. literally
2️⃣ That IG page you made to stalk creators with? yeah. you’re gonna now optimize your bio with keywords and seo friendly terms so that you become more searchable when brands look for creators to work with.
3️⃣ next you’re gonna find 5-7 products in your house to film UGC examples with. have fun with it!! and remember everything you learned during your stalking phase
4️⃣ lastly you’re gonna get your butt on canva, type in “UGC Portfolios” browse through the selection, pick your fav one, and customize it!!!
and just like that, you’re ready to start pitching away ✨

Starting UGC can be a lot and get very overwhelming but the UGC community is so uplifting and we’re all here for you, so start & don’t stop ✨✨
If I were starting my IGC business from scratch here are the first 4 things I would do:
✨Research- THIS IS KEY. Take your time learning all you can without diving in head first. it will save you so much time in the long run by learning the name to the game prior to making that portfolio & pitching to brands!!
✨Make new socials- this is big!! It’s how you’re gonna network and build your personal brand so you can spend time creating for clients rather than pitching all day and night. (Make and email too!!)
✨Make a portfolio- Hop your booty on Canva, grab some products in your house and put that thang together! Add your own special touches to it so that you are able to stand out- brands look at sooo many portfolios in one day.. don’t get lost in the bunch!!
✨BE DIFFERENT- this will take you so much further than you think! stop caring about other ppls opinions of you and go chase your dreams!! you’ll be so surprised as to what attracts brands these days, they wanna see you!!! ❤️
