He writes,

On the 21st foundation day of the Press Club of Sikkim I express my heartiest congratulations, warmest greetings and best wishes to the Press Club of Sikkim for accomplishing the successful journey of over two decades.

I applause the dedication and commitment of each and every individual associated with the PCS, its struggle, perseverance and unity since the day of its foundation. I commend the dedication of all the Presidents and executive members of the Press Club of Sikkim since its foundation to date.

On this significant occasion, I am delighted to mention here that today we are issuing allotment order of the Press Club Bhawan located near MP Golai, Tadong, alongwith one 'Traveller' vehicle
as a gift and support to the Club and have enhanced the cash awards which are awarded to the journalists commending their excellence in various fields.

Apart from that, we are giving possible medical aid for the journalists and their family members and also have set plans for the timely exposure, educational trip for the journalists and we are always ready to extend possible support to the journalists at the time of their dire need and necessity.
I was very desirous to attend the celebration of the foundation day of the Press Club of Sikkim but having urgent and important meetings in New Delhi and Dehradun, this time I couldn't attend the foundation day celebration. Pakyong March 06th (IPR): The International Women's Day Celebration organised by District Administration Center,Pakyong was observed today at Rurban Community Center,Pakyong with much pomp and gaiety.

International Women’s Day (8th March) is a global day celebrating the historical, cultural, and political achievements of women. The day is also observed in support of taking action against gender inequality around the world.The purpose of the day is to uphold women's achievements, recognize challenges, and focus greater attention on women's rights.

The celebration had the presence of Zilla Upadhakshya Mrs Prabha Pradhan, Zilla Panchayats, Panchayat Presidents, D.C Pakyong Mr.Tashi Chophel , ADC Pakyong Ms Anupa Tamling, SDM Pakyong, Mr.Tshering Norgyal Theengh,SDM(H.Q) Thendup Lepcha and HOD's along with officials from the district.

The ADC on her deliberation underlined the elements that defines the women empowerment in its truest sense. She insisted that the factors that contribute to women empowerment should not only confine to actions and words of an individual , but should be more vocal in thoughts. She informed the gathering of multiple schemes initiated by the state government for the welfare and upliftment of the women in the state including Bhaini scheme and Sikkim Aama Sashaktikaran Yojana and representation of women in political gambit.

Marking the celebration of one such woman, a tuberculosis survivor & a champion Ms Sristi S***a narrated her post T.B traumatic experience and stigma attached to it but her strong conscience and will power had helped her to overcome her illness and regain her confidence.

Sensitizing the public Mr Bikash Thapa,Chairman Star of Hope (NGO) highlighted the increasing cases of T.B in the state and causes leading to it.

He further spoke about the myths related to the disease that is far beyond the truth. He asserted that T.B is a curable disease if appropriate and timely medication is met.

Yet another achiever who has proved women could stand shoulder to shoulder with the rest of the world, Mrs Sangeeta Dahal who had worked with National and International organisations, projects for the development of community, women and youth under Rural Development sector. She as well had participant in the UNV India for Youth innovation forum at Bangkok 2016, spoke about the positive stride that women should adopt in making them self sustainable financially and morally

The District Collector in his address congratulated all the women during the occasion and recollected the pivotal role of the women in the society and the nation, Apart from being the homemaker the women of today have equal participation and contribution in every possible arena as compared to their counter parts. He acknowledged the contribution of the women in nation building.

D.C Pakyong, ADC Pakyong, SDM Pakyong, SDM(H.Q) during the occasion. During her discourse she related to the role of a women as a foremost teacher, mother and a daughter which is infinite. She further mentioned various women welfare schemes undertaken by the state government for the upliftment of the women.

The programme also had an array of games and musical feast by officials of district as well as the teachers of Pachey Senior Secondary School, Raigaon school and felicitation to various SHG's from the district.

As per the direction from party high command and under the Guidance of HMLA Shri Bishnu Kumar Khatiwara, a Coordination meeting was held today at the residence of Hon'ble Zilla Upadhyaksha Smt Prabha Pradhan Chettri under the Chairmanship of CEC Member Shri Zigme Chopel Bhutia to Pertain to "Vijay Utsav" will be solemnize on 20th February, 2023 at Singtam to welcome the judgement of Supreme Court removing foreigner tag of Sikkimese-Nepali community. Honb'le Chief Minister Shri Prem Singh Tamang-Golay will be felicitated on the event of Vijay Utsav for his undying devotion to Sikkimese People to protect our fundamental rights of article (371F) which was the fundamental right that Sikkim got when it merged with India and historic achievement by removing foreigners tag described to the Sikkimese-Nepali community under his initiatives.

Ministry of Home Affairs and Ministry of Finance shall jointly bring the matter for review before the Court

Gangtok, Feb 6;

A team led by BJP state president DR Thapa and the members of Joint Action Committee and Sikkimey Nagarik Samaj called on Home Minister, Amit Shah today.

The team apprised him about the issue of foreigners tag to Sikkimese nepali and distortion of the definition of 'Sikkimese' as a result of the recent Supreme Court judgement.

After a patient hearing,Home Minister assured that sentiments of the Sikkimese community are well respected.

People of Sikkim are an integral and essential part of India. And the Constitutional provision for people of Sikkim shall be protected.

He advised that Ministry of Home Affairs and Ministry of Finance shall jointly bring the matter for review before the Court, on an immediate basis, and seek clarity on the term Sikkimese, in line with Constitutional provisions.

He appealed to the people of Sikkim to maintain peace and harmony in the state and advised political parties to refrain from attempting to take
political mileage out of this sensitive issue.

On Friday 27 January, the President of Hamro Sikkim Party Mr. Bhaichung Bhutia addressed a press conference on the reservation of seats for the Sikkimese Nepali community and the implementation of the Inner Line Permit.

The solution to these issues involves two steps:

1. Pass the resolution/bill in the Sikkim legislative assembly and send the resolution/bill to the parliament.
2. The resolution/bill should pass in both houses of the parliament.

1st is totally in hands of the SKM-led government of Sikkim. HSP demands that the SKM government call an assembly session and pass the resolution and bill to implement ILP and provision Nepali seat reservation in Sikkim. This and only this must be done before the budget session of parliament ends which is on 6th April. Sikkim doesn’t need the drama of rallies and speeches instead of concrete steps to really solve issues.

For the Second Part, Bhaichung Bhutia took the responsibility that if the bill is brought in the parliament then all parties will support the bill.

Bhaichung already started working on his commitment by meeting 𝙍𝙖𝙝𝙪𝙡 𝙂𝙖𝙣𝙙𝙝𝙞 & 𝙋𝙧𝙞𝙮𝙖𝙣𝙠𝙖 𝙂𝙖𝙣𝙙𝙝𝙞 of Congress at *Srinagar, Kashmir* during 𝘽𝙝𝙖𝙧𝙖𝙩 𝙅𝙤𝙙𝙤 𝙔𝙖𝙩𝙧𝙖. Bhaichung explained to Rahul & Priyanka how the majority of Sikkimese who are Indians are referred as “𝗣𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗲𝗶𝗴𝗻 𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗶𝗻” in the Supreme Court judgement. To ensure the safety & security of the Sikkimese Nepali community, their rightful reservation must be restored. Bhaichung also explained why ILP is necessary for Sikkim’s all-round development & prosperity. During the Bharat Jodo Yatra, Bhaichung requested all the leaders of Congress to support any resolution/bill brought in parliament to solve these issues.

As a constructive opposition party, HSP is doing everything to support the government to solve the issue of ILP and seat reservation. Now it is high time that govt of Sikkim must act. And the right place to act is the Sikkim assembly, not the rally speech. Govt must pass the bills in the assembly and send it to the parliament so that the bill is passed and becomes an Act or law.

On the night of January 27, at around 9:00 PM, a fire broke out at Pakyong Lall Bazar, completely destroying 7 shops in the area.

DC Pakyong,Tashi Chophel took a stroll of damages immediately, where the blaze at the mini-market was brought under the control with the help of fire police and the public.

As informed by DC Pakyong, personnel from the Fire Department reached the spot on time and stopped the fire from spreading further.

The fire severely damaged 7 shops and partially damaged two adjusting shops.

Chairman Food & Supplies, Inchung Bhutia and Advisor Dubo Tshering Bhutia along with DC Pakyong, ADC Pakyong, SDM (HQ), Panchayats inspected the site and handed over the exgratia cheque and two sets of tarpaulin as an instant relief to the affected shop owners.
