She urged customers to have faith in Evaly.
‘We have two independent directors appointed by the High Court to manage our operations,’ Shamima said, adding that she would seek Russell’s bail under any condition. It is necessary for Evaly to move forward, she said.
Replying to a question, she said, ‘Many investors contacted us after our arrest. Now if we start business again, new investors will come.’

State Minister for Power, Energy, and Mineral Resources Nasrul Hamid has said there is no scope to reduce the price of fuel.

He said this in response to a question while talking to reporters at his residence today (October 7, 2022).

Earlier on August 5, the government announced to increase the price of fuel. As per the announcement, the price of diesel and kerosene was increased by Tk 34 to Tk 114 per litre, octane by Tk 46 to Tk 135 per litre and petrol by Tk 44 to Tk 130 per litre.

After 24 days, on August 29, the government announced to reduce the price of all types of oil by Tk 5 per litre.

The European Union (EU) has renewed its support to Rohingya refugees and host communities in Cox’s Bazar and Bhasan Char with a contribution of €6.2 million.

The support is coming through DG ECHO, the Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid Operations department of the EU.

UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency, today welcomed the European Union’s generous contribution which will support UNHCR’s continued protection and assistance of Rohingya refugees and host communities in Bangladesh.

Twitter has accepted Elon Musk’s $44 billion bid to buy the social media company, The Wall Street Journal reported Monday afternoon.

Trading of Twitter stock was halted just prior to the announcement. In a statement, Twitter said that it has “entered into a definitive agreement to be acquired by an entity wholly owned by Elon Musk, for $54.20 per share in cash in a transaction valued at approximately $44 billion.”

The Karnataka High Court upheld the state government’s ban on hijab in classroom.

The four -- Md Kayser, Mizanur Rahman, Jahedul Islam and Mijanul Islam -- are students of Sonarpara High School in Ukhia upazila. Of them, Jahedul is a class 10 student and the other three are class eight students.

After kidnapping the four, Jahangir and Ibrahim demanded Tk 5 lakh ransom for each of them over phone, the families alleged. The two Rohingyas are residents of Teknaf's Nayapara Rohingya refugee camp no. 26, and work as staff of "Batighar Cottage" on Cox's Bazar-Teknaf Marine Drive in Himchhari Panchardwip area, the families said.

The DNCC mayor said, "The number of vehicles has increased and gridlocks have gotten worse. Under the circumstances, we're contemplating tax on vehicles in affluent areas."

"From Gulshan-1 to Gulshan-2, Kakoli to Gulshan or Baridhara, only cars and cars. In a family -- father, mother, son and daughter -- everyone has individual cars. China's central bank has announced that all transactions of crypto-currencies are illegal, effectively banning digital tokens such as Bitcoin.

"Virtual currency-related business activities are illegal financial activities," the People's Bank of China said, warning it "seriously endangers the safety of people's assets".

China is one of the world's largest crypto-currency markets.

Fluctuations there often impact the global price of crypto-currencies.

The price of Bitcoin fell by more than $2,000 (£1,460) in the wake of the Chinese announcement.

Bangladesh's first animated film "Mujib Amar Pita" was announced amidst much enthusiasm. Based on the book, "Sheikh Mujib Amar Pita", dedicated to the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and authored by the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, the full-fledged 2D film is directed by Sohel Mohammad Rana.

Produced by Prolancer Studio, the largest 2D animation studio in Bangladesh, the film got clearance from the Bangladesh Film Censor Board on September 16. It is now set to hit theatres countrywide on October 1. The film is also funded by the ICT Division of the Information Ministry.
