Through The Lord Jesus, We are restored back to the glorious position we had in God before the fall, because when a thing is broken, for it to be restored back to it's initial state before it got broken, it has to pass through the process through which it was initially created.
This is why The Lord Jesus Christ said, "I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to God but through me" - (John 14:6).

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind-{John 1:1-4).

God wants you and I to inherit eternal life, and to be restored to the glorious position we had in him before the fall, This is why the LORD Jesus Christ came, to bring about that restoration. To realign us in perfect harmony with God Almighty our heavenly Father. Religion is not God's plan for you and me, God wants a personal relationship with you and me.
What is religion? Men in their limited ability, limited knowledge, shortsighted insight and understanding, seeking God. And with shortsighted insights, flawed understanding, limited ability, men cannot come to the full knowledge of God. This is why we have so many religions in the world. Religion seem more to me like the devil's plan to distract men from the real thing which is a true relationship with God which can only be through The Lord Jesus. Because when the Lord Jesus Christ came, to this earth, took the penalties for our sin and resurrected back to Glory, just so we can rise with him, in this case it is God who sought after men to save them. And it makes more sense when an unlimited, omniscience, omnipresent, omnipotent God seeks after you to save you, because he already knows everything about you.
