⚠️ UPDATE - HIGHWAY 444 IS BACK OPEN ⚠️

HIGHWAY 444 SHUT DOWN AT SADDLE DAM BRIDGE FOR WRECK WITH INJURY

Highway 444 at the Saddle Dam is shut down in both directions for a wreck with injury and pin.

First responders with the Loudon County Sheriff's Office, Priority Ambulance Service, Tennessee Highway Patrol, and the Tellico Village Fire Department are on scene attempting to remove the patient from the vehicle.

Due to the snow and icy conditions, it is currently unknown how long the closure will be in place. If you must drive, please slow down, allow for additional travel time, and seek alternate routes.

Emergency Snow Plan – Winter Storm Response

In light of the deteriorating road conditions caused by the current winter storm, the Loudon County Sheriff's Office is activating its Emergency Snow Plan to prioritize public safety and efficient response.

We will continue to respond to emergency calls, including accidents involving injuries. However, we will temporarily suspend responses to non-emergency calls, including accidents without injuries.

If you are involved in a non-injury accident, please exchange the following information with the other party: name, phone number, insurance details, and vehicle information. Additionally, take photos of the scene. Contact your insurance company and provide them with all relevant information.

We strongly urge you to remain at home and avoid traveling unless absolutely necessary. Your safety is our priority.
