New episode out today!!

In this episode we talk about something that makes Project Headspace and Timing, and many other veteran organizations what they are and are trying to recreate: camaraderie.

It is our opinion that camaraderie is one of the biggest things missing in a veteran's life when they get home, and one of the things we are all looking for, veteran and civilian alike. We were surprised to see the scientific benefits we found associated with camaraderie, but we think this episode definitely has something for all of us.

We also discuss being granted the title of 172nd best Mental Health Podcast in Cambodia, and why Eric severely dislikes the term "battle buddy."

Check it out and let us know what you think!

And a huge THANK YOU to our partner for this episode, TRIO!

Relationships. Boy are they hard. Familial, friendships, coworkers, romantic relationships. They are all hard.

Today we are going to focus on romantic relationships and boundaries.

If you and/or your partner step outside of your relationship….you need to prepare for MAJOR therapy to work through this. Couples AND individual therapy, yes you’ll need both.

Now. Let’s talk consequences of actions. It is okay to set boundaries with a partner who cheated. But they should be realistic. That can look like

“Can you let me know where you are if you are outside of your regular schedule” ✅

“Can you please communicate more with me at the end of each day” ✅

“Can you work on personal physical boundaries with others during this time” (this should be short term) ✅

“Can we work on identifying what needs or what feelings we are having regularly, let’s not wait until one of us feels like we may break” ✅

It does NOT look like

“You cannot have any friends outside of your gender” ❌

“I need your phone password, access to your phone and it needs to always be face up” ❌

“I don’t want you going to any events where other genders are present” ❌

“You need to be present at all times to meet my physical and emotional needs, and if you say no, it’s on like Donkey Kong” ❌

At the end of the day, sometimes people make mistakes. But they need not be punished forever. Nor is it healthy for the other party to drown in jealously or negative emotions.

Learn to handle your emotions and try not to take them out any undeserving victims in the process. They are just existing. ❤️

One of the hardest truths to accept

The things that happened to you that were negative and brought out negative in you, are not your fault.

If you were raised by a nasty person and you become a nasty person that is not your FAULT.

But it is your RESPONSIBILITY to change.
Because it isn’t anyone else’s fault either, so they don’t deserve the ramifications of what happened to you.

It’s a hard pill to swallow.

Standing in a puddle crying about being in a puddle is easier than climbing over the thorny bridge to get out of that puddle.

But we are responsible for getting out of the puddle.

Take the accountability, and make the change. It’ll be hard. But it’ll be so so worth it. ❤️
