Four schoolgirls were abducted by bandits early on Wednesday in the northwestern Nigerian state of Zamfara.

Police sources say the bandits raided Tsafe town in the cover of darkness and made away with the College of Health Technology learners from their hostel just outside the institution.

Nigeria’s northwestern region has seen a spike in terror-related activities which have seen tens of people killed and many others kidnapped or left wounded.

Over the years, school going learners have been particularly targeted by terrorists to be used as ransom bargains or recruits into the terror groups.

A couple has sued a fertility clinic after they got a baby boy instead of getting a baby girl as they had wanted.

The couple sought out a fertility clinic to have embryos implanted – and had used the process of gender selection to ensure they had a girl.

Heather Wilhelm-Routenberg and her wife Robin say they were shocked to find out they were getting a baby boy after conducting a scan 15 weeks into their pregnancy.

The New Yorkers now say they have no emotional connection to their baby, and want the fertility clinic to take responsibility for the confusion.

“I am not a bad person,” a tattoo enthusiast who has spent more than £38,400 on his “demonic” body art says.

Soren Lorenson, alias Neon Demon, has more than 200 tattoos, with the most conspicuous modification perhaps being the black ink that fills in the whites of his eyes.

"The general sentiment that I keep running into is that some people see me and instantly view me as less of a person or even a bad person.

"The worst feedback I get is on the internet where people's true feelings are more apparent. Psychologically I get villainized sometimes because inwardly they think 'wow what would make him do that to himself? He must be crazy. He makes bad decisions. He looks scary.'"

A pilot has admitted he still loves his wife despite murdering her in cold blood in May last year.

Babis Anagnostopoulos, a Greek pilot, initially lied to police that his wife had been killed by a gang of robbers that attacked their home, but inconsistencies in his report prompted the authorities to investigate him.

He later admitted to killing her in front of their 11-month-old daughter, but now says “I loved her and I still love her. That is never going to change."

He added: “It was never my aim to hurt my wife. I loved her and I love her.”

Anagnostopoulos’ trial is now underway and witnesses are expected to testify before a jury.
