3.5 years difference! My hair grows soooo fast that I was touching up my roots every weekend! I don’t even want to try to figure up how much I spent over 25 years bleaching and coloring my hair to hide my pre-mature silvers 🥹 But it was too much 😆
I am so glad I’m done chasing my roots!

I love so many things about my gray hair but one of the best things is how much healthier it is now!
What are some of your favorite things about your gray hair?
The gray hair grow out was definitely a test of patience! But I kinda miss those grombre days! It’s cool how it keeps changing 🖤

If you zoom in, you can see my wrinkles, pores, blemishes and sun spots. You know what? I’ve lived 51, almost 52, glorious AND stressful years. And I embrace every bit of it 🖤
Society wants us to hide it. To filter it. To change something because we just aren’t quite “enough”.
Well, come with me. We are going the opposite way of that. We are paving the way for authenticity and living free. We will choose our own path from now on.

I’m about 6 weeks away from 3 years dye free and haven’t regretted my decision once!
The first year was probably the hardest with the growout but it taught me patience. And I’m thankful for that 🙏

Breath. Relax. Soak in any joy. Ride the waves of whatever you’re feeling and going through🩶 You don’t have to be strong for everyone. It’s ok to release that expectation. But keep yourself above water. Float. Listen and feel your heartbeat. 💓
How to become a self advocate!
✨ Believe in yourself.
✨ Prioritize your needs/wants.
✨ Communicate needs/wants.
✨ Create boundaries.
✨ Exist loudly.
✨ Be the light for others when the time is right.
Self advocacy is a life skill. It is necessary for your mental health and well being. It is NOT selfish.

Looking back, time flew by.
But during the grow out, it seemed like forever.
The lesson in that is: no matter what we go through, the clock is ticking. Sometimes we will pray for it to go faster and sometimes we will pray for it to never end.
But the clock ticks exactly the same ❤️
Do you ever have days where you “just showed up?” You didn’t feel like it, but you did?
WE ALL HAVE THOSE DAYS.
When you don’t feel like it, just do SOMETHING. You are worth it and those “somethings” add up 🙏🤍

I am so thankful and blessed to have celebrated 51 years with family and friends ❤️ here’s to many more adventures & memories!
Sometimes I can’t even believe this is how my gray hair grew out. It’s the perfect combo of my mom’s and dad’s hair 🤍
I pictured it to have WAY more white from what the hairdressers told me.
I’m thankful I took the leap 2.5 years ago and just went for it not knowing how it would turn out.
And here we are: fuller, healthier hair that can actually hold some curl 😆👏

✨ Embrace it, lean into it!
✨ Accept that in might not be linear. You may need to pivot or adjust course. And that’s OKAY!

It’s a hair dryer and a hot tool!
It creates such a smooth and sleek style with no frizz.
I started with damp hair.
I used the hair dryer button. Sectioned my hair in small pieces. Hold at the scalp for 2-3 seconds and bring down slowly. It dries pretty quickly!
Once it is all dry, if you want it more straight or if you want to and some waves, turn on the shine shot button! It turns off the dryer portion and heats the plates to 365.

My favorite haircare products and process! ✨ 🖤 Redken Acidic Bonding Concentrated Shampoo and Conditioner. 💜 Redken Blondage Violet Shampoo. I wash every other night since I strength train and get pretty sweaty! When I wash, I wash at night. I use shampoo only on my scalp (dime size) and then rinse and use conditioner (dime size) everywhere except the scalp. I only use a violet shampoo as needed. About every 3rd wash. Sometimes I just mix a bit with my regular shampoo! I ring the excess water out of my hair in the shower and use a microfiber type hair towel OR a tshirt material hair towel. I leave it in the towel for about 10-15 minutes and then let it air dry until it’s damp, then I blow it dry with @ghd_northamerica 2n1 tool! I use a silk or satin pillowcase and always. Sometimes I wear a @silkelondon satin cap too! I straighten it or curl it in the morning. The first 3 months of my gray hair grow out 🩶 I went to a hairdresser every 4-6 weeks to lighten it slowly from the dark brown box color. She did baby highlights and low lights.
