It was a typical evening in Iola, Kansas 55 years ago on October 2,1969, when 14 year old Sally Hutton went to the Iola Kansas Junior High football game. No one could foresee the horrific way that night would end.
Sally's badly beaten body would be found the next day along a desolate farm road.
Although Iola was dealing with 2 murders that week every available resource the state had to offer was sent to Iola to gather and preserve evidence in both cases. Over the years hundreds of investigative hours have been spent hoping for just one clue. The evidence gathered has waited for technology to advance it is now time to test again. It is not the failure of the investigators in the past that this case has remained unsolved is the failure of the current officials in charge to act. Please let us not forget that Sally Hutton was someone's daughter, sister, cousin and friend. Justice for Sally Hutton!

We have not forgotten that 55 years ago today, September 30,1969, Betty Cantrell was abducted from the Dine Out Cafe, located in Iola, Kansas, then beaten and drown in Elm Creek. Law Enforcement from multiple agencies worked on gathering evidence to solve her case. Although, early on in the investigation law enforcement believed they had there man Joseph Shoemaker, a jury saw it differently. Maybe so did some in Law enforcement because thankfully they have held on to the evidence in her case for 55 years. Is it time that we take a new look at her murder. Is it possible that something got missed or new technology could help finally bring answer to the case?Betty's family, her sister, son, and friends deserve answers. How long do you wait?Could answers in Betty's case bring answers in the Sally Hutton case as well? Betty's husband David Cantrell was ruled out as a suspect before her body was found, Why?
