SMART METERS⚡️

A national awareness campaign has launched by Utilita to turbo-boost the national smart meter rollout across the private rental sector, in readiness for what is going to be the hardest winter for millions of tenants.

The ‘Smart Landlords, Smart Tenants’ campaign is designed to help landlords understand the basics about the latest smart meters, and the benefits they can deliver for them and their tenants, including life-saving connectivity and remote financial assistance.

Utilita’s Founder and CEO, Bill Bullen says:

“With the affordability crisis continuing to bite and financial resilience at an all-time low, millions more households will need financial assistance from their energy supplier this winter, and without a smart meter, that’s very hard to do. Last year, households without a smart meter missed out on £98 million in Energy Bill Support Scheme (EBSS) vouchers – that’s £400 each, which would have been the difference between having the heating on or off during winter"

🚨SPECIAL FEATURE🚨

As we gear up for November's Future Energy Wales event at ICCWales, Jessica Hooper, Director at RenewableUK Cymru, shares her inspiring journey into the world of renewable energy.

Jess says:

“What excites me most about my current role is the emphasis on solutions. RenewableUK members face many common difficulties, whether that is a lack of grid connection or extensive delays in the planning system. My role is to help them collaborate to find resolutions, and then take those to the policy makers with the power to implement them. I would like to use Future Energy Wales as a mechanism to hold both the UK and Welsh Governments to account – to demonstrate how they need to deliver to meet their own net zero targets.”

Future Energy Wales will be packed with insight, business networks and tailored events, this two-day conference is the place to discover what a diverse and resilient energy mix offers for small to medium sized businesses in Wales.
