I mentioned on my last post that I had just an awful day. And I really did. But the best way I know to fix that is to smoke cleanse myself. Everyone talks about smoke cleansing spaces, but almost never about smoke cleansing yourself. But you need to! This is one of the best ways to cleanse your energy and give yourself a good, reset. It's uplifting and energizing. And when you pair it with the full moon 🌕 like tonight, it gives you that extra charge. Bask in it. And know that things are calming. At least, that's what I'm telling myself tonight. I'm using rosemary that I grew in my garden last year and made in to smoke cleansing sticks. But you can use any herbs that call to you. Just please make sure that they are sustainably harvested and please buy from BIPOC! Please don't appropriate any cultures and please be respectful. Angering the gods, goddesses and elders won't do you any favors!

I found these beautiful variegated bebes in one of my prop boxes tonight! 😍🥺😭 I really needed that little pick me up after the awful day I've had today. gifted me these leaves a while ago and I'm so thankful they propagated! A variegated peperomia is just what I need in my life right now. Two is even better! 🪴🪴

These were propagated in a propagation box with sphagnum moss, perlite and Superthrive. I made a reel about how to make your own prop box that you can check out!

This peace lily was given to me in 2018 by my late mother as a gift for opening my store. My mother is now gone and so is the store. But the plant lives on in this very special corner of mine. ❤️

Come and experience pretty home styles at week 19 of . Our tour is open for all home decor/diy/flatlay/garden decor accounts and runs every Thursday-Friday.

This calathea dottie I just received from a friend is already getting a new leaf! I shouldn't be surprised. takes superb care of her plants!

The dark purple and burgundy of dottie's leaves really call to me. I'm always drawn to purple and some would say that my aura is this color (Purple! Your aura is purple!) so it makes sense. My kiddo #1 calls it a witchy color. 🧙🏼‍♀️💜

My hoya macrophylla is getting a new leaf! This poor cutting has been the same two leaves for ever. It finally grew a new leaf and my kids promptly ripped it off. So here is new leaf #2. Here's to hoping there's more on the way and the kids let them grow. 🥴

This corner is starting to come together nicely, though it needs some work. The bird of paradise I got several years ago from a friend's daughter. And then it was severely neglected for a while. But it's coming back to its full glory. Just look at that new leaf!

The shelf with the salt lamp needs something more, but everything I put there gets knocked off or vetoed by the kids. 🤦‍♀️ Any suggestions are appreciated!

This begonia I have named the bonkers begonia, for several reasons. 1) I don't know it's real name yet, 2) it looks bonkers because it's so beautiful, 3) it's bonkers that I've kept a begonia this beautiful this long and 4) every single leaf on this plant is different and that's just bonkers. I can't even believe it. Watching it grow is such a joy because I feel like it's different every day!

The sun is out, the snow is melting, and the wind is making my wind chimes from sing! Spring is just around the corner, Mother Earth says so. I'm itching to get back in the outside garden. I want to watch the beans climb up those supports again!

This diy hanging propagation station I made is the perfect way to keep an eye on those propagation roots. Let me make one for you!! This hoya bilobata still has some time to go, but this neon pothos is ready to plant any day! Superthrive in the water helps give these props a boost.

It's been a while since I've shown off my philodendron pink princess in her full glory. Despite a little damage on some leaves, I think she's just beautiful. The stem even seems to be getting more variegation as it grows, which makes me really happy!

Warhol is fiercely protecting his favorite plant and its brand new pot from .co in his favorite color. This golden pothos is the one he chose at the greenhouse and he loves it. And with its new Bloom Elf pot, it's really looking it's best these days. It's also really sturdy, which makes Warhol's job way easier. He's old, so he appreciates that.

My philodendron brandtianum aka brandi is not quite sure what it's doing, I think. This is a tiny little plant I got for very cheap, but it has one leaf stuck, trying to unfurl, while growing another leaf that is stuck, trying to unfurl. I want to help it, but most of the time that causes more damage than it actually helps. Sometimes plants are nerve wracking!

Happy 4th Birthday to Kid #2! We don't eat sugar (ok the adults cheat sometimes) so we make literal fruit cakes for birthdays. Kid #2 is obsessed with dinosaurs right now, so they get a watermelon dinosaur cake and a castle cake! I had to sneak in plants somewhere so the dinosaur birthday plants have monstera leaves on them. 🍃🤣

This sansevieria leaf is now a propagation project, thanks to kid #3. They bent this leaf off of the top of my plant, but no worries. I will just use it to make more. Sansevieria will grow roots from the bottom of the leaf. It helps to make a v shaped cut so that the roots have room to grow and don't just grow into the bottom of the propagation container. These can go straight in water, I always add a couple drops of Superthrive to give them a boost.

More goodies from a wonderful plant frond (I call my plant friends fronds.) 🤣🌿🤣 This philodendron painted lady node and leaf is going to grow in to a beautiful plant. And this will be a fun propagation project. Aroids are my favorite plant to propagate and philodendrons in particular are very high on that list. They do well in a lot of different mediums, but this will probably just go in some water and Superthrive!

I have lots of people ask where I get all of my plant cuttings for my propagation boxes and other propagations. The truth is, they come from lots of different places, but the majority come from planty friends that drop off wonderful bags and boxes of goodness like this! This bag is full of SEVERAL types of begonias, mostly angel wing and also some pilea. The pots are filled with three different types of calathea. I have said it before and I will say it again: my plant friends are the best and you need to get you some like mine!

This is my grocery store phalaenopsis orchid rehab center. There are three orchids here and two above. The one in front here is the largest one I have (I got it for $5!) and the newest leaf has been growing like crazy since I added this awesome grow light from (please disregard the scissor marks on the bottom leaf, toddlers are real. 🤦‍♀️) Despite the damage and being overwatered and neglected all at the same time at the grocery store, the plant is super happy now, mostly thanks to my new grow light and some new growing medium. Most grocery stores grow these in sphagnum moss, which is not good for orchids at all. They prefer a chunky bark mix to get lots of air and humidity to the roots. I always repot mine as soon as I get them home and you should too!

19/02/2021

OMG is that mold on my plants?!?! Nope, it's just mycorrhizae! I fertilized my plants about a week ago with Superthrive granules (be warned your house will smell for about 24 hours!) and now some of my pots look like this. But mycorrhizae is included in the Superthrive granules (though you can buy powder seperately) and it is great for plants. Mycorrhizae helps transport nutrients to the roots of the plant and helps to make your root system stronger. Mycorrhizae is responsible for some of the mushrooms that pop up in plant pots. When you see the fruiting bodies (the mushroom) you can assume two things: you have healthy soil and your plant is slightly overwatered. 😝 This beneficial fungus is just one reason mushrooms are so cool!

The pilea mollis aka moon valley has acclimated nicely since shipment! packed it's REALLY well so there was basically no damage during shipping! A feat in this cold weather.

The texture in these leaves is UNREAL. There are so many peaks and valleys. I see where the colloquial name comes from!

Plant identification help! I got this plant as a 2 inch terrarium plant that was teeny tiny. I thought it looked like a baby monstera then even though I knew it wasn't that, but thought it actually was a type of syngonium. As it grows, I don't think it looks like a syngonium anymore, but an anthurium. What do you think?? Im excited to finally know what it is that I've been growing since a baby plant!
